YouTube Upload Limit Removed on Some Accounts

The standard YouTube upload limit normally allows for 15 minutes of video to be uploaded. YouTube has now announced that on some accounts, this restriction is being lifted. This limit removal is believed to be related to the launch of Google TV.

To ensure that uploaded content is allowed to be there, YouTube is putting controls in place to protect copyrights. The system to be used is called Content ID and that software will be used to scan for illegal content as files are uploaded to YouTube. [Read more…]

Apple [AAPL] has announced the best iPad and iPhone apps of 2010. The list starts by recognizing four of the best apps of the year which includes Hipstamatic, Plants Vs. Zombies, Flipboard and Osmos. After that it moves on to a list of more apps that meet certain criteria such as the Overall Top 10 PAID iPhone Apps, Top Free iPhone Apps and Top Grossing iPhone apps. The same lists are created for iPad apps in the same format.

Microsoft [MSFT] has announced that the new Internet Explorer 9 browser will have tracking protection built in. What tracking protection will do is prevent web servers from tracking information about you visiting websites.

Sony PlayStation Phone Release Date Hinted At March 2011

Gingerbread Launcher App for Android 2.2 Now Available

Android 2.3 was announced a few days ago, and pushed out to the Nexus One that very same day. However, any other Android device will need to wait a little longer as Google is yet to push out the requirements and documentation to device manufacturers.

With that in mind, you can actually now download what’s called the Gingerbread Launcher on your Android 2.2 device. What this does is brings the UI to the Android 2.2 operating system. Apple iPad Discounts on Refurbished Models

Apple [AAPL] has announced a limited time offer on the refurbished Apple iPad Wi-Fi only models. The company is adding a further $20 discount to the regular refurbished price on the 16GB model and a further $50 off the price of the 32 and 64GB models.

The offers are for a limited amount of time although that limited length of time is not specified. The refurbished models are given new batteries, new external shells and have a one year warranty which makes them practically brand new when you think about it (hopefully the screen is not beaten to death). LG Optimus One Android 2.3 Update Might Happen

Yesterday, LG published a Facebook update (now deleted) that said Android 2.3 Gingerbread would not land on the Optimus line of smartphones due to it requiring a 1GHz processor to run it. Optimus smartphone use a 600MHz processor.

Shortly after that, @morrildl tweeted a “random note” as he called it and said that Gingerbread had no hard minimum processor requirements. [Read more…]
