Google Chrome 7 Download Now Ready

Google [GOOG] has release the Google Chrome 7 browser. This newest and latest version contains a number of bug fixes as well as a few new features that improve the browsing experience for users.

New features included are aimed mostly at developers which include AppleScript support for Mac OS X users which allows for UI automation along with HTML5 parsing. [Read more…]

New MacBook Air Models Now Available

Apple [AAPL] has announced a couple of new MacBook Air models. The first is the regular sized 13.3 inch screen model.

This particular model measures 0.68 inches at the thickest point and 0.11 inches at the thinnest point. It weighs 2.9 pounds. Inside it has the option of either a 1.86GHz or 2.13GHz processor.

2GB of RAM is included inside that can be upgraded up to 4GB if needed. For storage there are two options of either a 128GB flash or 256GB flash. No HDD options are available on these models. [Read more…]

Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Announced

Today at the Back to the Mac event, Apple [AAPL] also announced Max OS X Lion. The Lion version will be the 8th major release in the series when it arrives in the summer of 2011.

New features in Mac OS X Lion include the Mac App Store that brings to App Store of the iPhone and iPad to the Mac. The store is different in regards to what apps will be available, but the principles behind it are the same in that users can can easily download apps that run in full screen from the store with just one click. The Mac App Store will be launching in 90 days time for Snow Leopard and in November, developers will be able to begin submitting apps for approval at launch. FaceTime Mac Download Link Now Available

If you want to test out FaceTime for Mac then you’re in luck as the download is already available over here.

FaceTime for Mac allows users to make FaceTime calls between Mac and the iPhone 4 or latest gen iPod touch. The software is still in Beta but seems to work as needed.

When you have downloaded the software you can click on the FaceTime icon where you then have the option to log in with your Apple ID. Once done, you can then make FaceTime calls as needed. [Read more…]

iLife 11 for Mac Announced

Today at the Apple Back to the Mac event, Apple [AAPL] announced iLife 11. This new version costs $49 for those buying it now, or comes free for those who buy a Mac from today onwards.

New features of iLife 11 include a new version of iPhoto (version 11) that brings the app to full screen mode on the Mac. New features show that the software can email photos, themes, and more easily integrate with Facebook and Flickr. Books can more easily be created with this new version as well as letterpress photo cards. 12 new themes are also included allowing you to make better slideshows for your pictures in full screen. Samsung Galaxy Tab Release Date – November 11 on Verizon

Verizon [VZ] has announced today that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be landing on its network on November 11. The price will be $600.

No dataplan will be required when you purchase it although if you want a dataplan you can opt to pay $20/month for 1GB of data. The dataplan is a month to month plan that allows you to cancel it at any time in 30 day increments. [Read more…]

Apple MacBook Air Rumored Details

With the Apple [AAPL] Back to the Mac event just an hour away, we thought we’d quickly post some rumored specs that have been suggested for the new MacBook Air that is expected to be announced.

The picture above shows what it believed to be a new 11.6 inch version to be announced later today. Rumored specs show that it will (or might) have an 11.6 inch display, 2.13GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with an optional 2.33GHz option. It will have 2GB of memory in the basic config. No optical drive will be included. It will have a trackpad that matches that of the MacBook Pro. It will be about the same thickness as the current MacBook Air. It also is expected to have a power key next to the eject button on the keyboard. [Read more…]

Apple Event Live Stream Announced

Apple [AAPL] will be holding the Back to the Mac event in a couple of hours time. They have now announced that the event will be live streamed. THe stream will be available on the Apple website.

The stream, as it has done the past few times, will go live a few moments before the event starts. Also, as usual, the Apple Live Stream will require that you have an Apple device to play it back such as a Max OS X computer or an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. iPhone iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Pwnage Tool Screen Shot Arrives

Yesterday, Musclenerd over on Twitter posted a screen shot of the new Pwnage Tool. The Pwnage Tool is compatible with a whole range of iOS device and includes the iPhone 4, 3G, 3GS as well as the iPod touch 2G, 3G and 4G and on to the iPad and Apple TV.

Android 3.0 Tablets Could Arrive at CES 2011

DigiTimes has reported that Android 3.0 tablets could arrive as early as as December. The models arrive will just be samples in preparation for launch at CES 2011 that goes ahead early in January.

As well as mentioning that tablets running Android 3.0 Gingerbread will arrive, DigiTimes also reveals that tablets from Acer, ASUS and MSI will all appear on the show floor. [Read more…]

Samsung Epic 4G Modded to Get Game Pad

The Samsung Epic 4G normally has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. A modder decided to pull away a bunch of the keys to create more of a game pad setup to play games.

The reason he decided to keep it simple was that it works surprisingly well. The modder, Phawx, has created a number of mods in the past for smartphones and when it comes down to controlling on-screen characters it seems that simply pulling out the unwanted keys and making a few cosmetic changes is the best way to go. Apple Back to the Mac Event Could Reveal new MacBook Air

Apple [AAPL] is holding an event today called Back to the Mac. Rumors about a new OS X version have been passing around due to the logo used on the image above. Perhaps OS X 10.7 will be launched.
