MoviePeg for iPad Launches

We originally wrote about the MoviePeg iPhone Stand back in March this year. The original was a single peg that attaches to the side of an iPhone to prop it up at a better angle for watching movies. It’s a simple, cheap and fantastic idea.

The iPad launched in April and a lot of people have been wondering if a MoviePeg iPad stand would be made available… the answer is yes, and it’s available now.

The MoviePeg iPad stand is similar to the iPhone version, but because of the iPad being larger, you need to use two MoviePegs instead. When ordering the MoviePeg for iPad you actually get two that can snap together to keep them safe whilst travelling around. [Read more…]

HTC EVO 4G Android 2.2 Update Fix

Last week, a ROM on the HTC site leaked out early and gave EVO 4G users the chance to upgrade to Android 2.2. The problem with the EVO 4G Android 2.2 update was that it wasn’t the final version. For those early adopters who grabbed this update, you are now left with an Android 2.2 version that isn’t final and that cannot receive OTA updates.

HTC has acknowledged this problem and is finding an official fix for this. However, if you are impatient and want an unofficial fix to return your update features to normal then check out Pojomans work on XDA Developers. [Read more…]

The FCC show drawings of a device that looks similar to a HP Slate. The device has a tablet look and has 802.11b/g/n WiFi built in.

Not much else is known about the device although we suspect with HP’s acquisition of Palm will see webOS being used on the tablet. [Read more…]

iPod touch 4 Case Mockup

Apple [AAPL] could be launching a new iPod touch 4 in the next month or so. The reason for this belief is that a photo illustration of an iPod touch 4 in a case has been revealed that indicates a new version with a camera is coming.

What happens here is that Apple send out technical specs (as in CAD details) to those companies who will be making cases. The drawings don’t show the device in details other than sizes of each part. With this information it appears that a company has created a mockup of what a case and iPod touch within that case will look like.

It’s hard to make out exactly what’s happening in the render, but it appears that “if” the iPod represents a new device then it will keep the curved back rather than a glass back of the iPhone 4. We also see the addition of a camera and possibly a flash also which is one of the wanted features on the device. [Read more…]

iPhone 5, iPad mini and iPod nano Rumours

iLounge has posted some rumours that reveal a few new products from Apple [AAPL] are being worked on for an end of 2010 or early 2011 launch.

The rumours come from a source who successfully “predicted” the iPad as well as a couple of iPod nano models.

The first of the rumours follows along with what we have heard before in that different iPad models will be launching. The new model mentioned is an iPad mini that has a 7 inch screen. The iPad mini is supposed to be a finished product that will be announced late this year or early next year and apparently has been in development for a few years. [Read more…]

Rightmove Property Search Launches Draw-a-Search

Rightmove is a property search website in the UK that has hundreds of thousands, if not millions of properties listed across the UK. The normal way to search on Rightmove is to enter a postcode or town name and hit search. You can then set limits such as search within 3 miles of the selected postcode.

The company recently launched a new service called draw-a-search that lets you do just that… draw a search on a map to define where you want to look for a house.

The service launched a couple of weeks ago and already half a million people have drawn searches on the UK map to hunt for property. [Read more…]

Google Announce 200K Android Devices Ship Daily

Eric Schmidt of Google [GOOG] has announced that 200,000 Google Android smartphones are being sold each day. Back in April that number was 60,000 and just two months ago it was 100,000. 200K represents an impressive growth rate over the last few months and one that Google has to be happy about.

That number is just one drip from a stream of good news for the platform this week, including 866 percent year-over-year growth and the top spot in NPD’s sales rankings.

Although we are sure that Google is happy with the speed of Android devices shifting off the shelves, we suspect that they wont sit back and enjoy it for more than a minute or two as they will be looking to again double that in the near future. [Read more…]
