iOS Devices to Get Quad-Core Processors

The beta of iOS 5.1 has some indications that the next iPad and iPhone will run a quad-core processor. That particular processor is expected to be an Apple A6 provided by Samsung. Although a quad-core chip is not really a surprise, what is good to see is that the iOS 5.1 beta has references to such a processor.

iPhone 4S Users Take Double the Data as iPhone 4 Users

An interesting report has been doing the rounds today about the iPhone 4S and how much data users eat through whilst using the device. When comparing it to the iPhone 4, users use double the amount of data. Some reports are blaming it on Siri with this being the only extra on the device.

LoveFilm Gets BBC and ITV Shows in the UK

LoveFilm has managed to strike up a deal with BBC and ITV in the UK. The new deal will bring a number of TV shows to the LoveFilm service. These include Inspector Morse, Cold Feet, Doctor Who and other shows.

Motorola Fans Want Unlocked Bootloaders as Promised

Motorola fans appear to be getting a little frustrated with the company. Just like HTC and Sony Ericsson, Motorola had also promised fans that they would unlock bootloaders on Android devices by the end of 2011. This was subject to carrier approval. Unfortunately, not much seems to of happened with this and bootloaders are still locked in most cases. We will mention that some are unlocked, but not many.

Apple Could Add Thunderbolt in iOS Devices

New patents published in the US hint that iOS devices could be getting a Thunderbolt port. One of the patents says “a connection may be provided between a portable media player and a display, a computer and a portable media player, or between other types of devices.” which has led a number of people to believe that this will include iOS devices.

Logitech Cube Mouse Doubles as a Wireless Presentation Controller

Logitech is releasing a new mouse called the Logitech Cube. The device looks like a small box and fits in the palm of your hand. What makes it unique is that the top side of it is a touch sensitive panel. When picking up the Cube it jumps in to presentation mode and allows you to control a presentation from the palm of your hand.

iMac Range Claims a Third of All-in-One PC Sales for Q3 2011

One third of all all-in-on PC sales were claimed by Apple for the iMac range. The numbers are from the third quarter of 2011. In second place was Lenovo with 22.7 percent of the share. The reason Lenovo did well was due to strong sales in China where its all-in-one PC range has taken off. HP took third place with 21.4 percent of the sales.
