Levitating Spinning Globe

Levitating Spinning Globe

Hovering Globe that spins

This globe is a shiny black and chrome device which floats above its stand. It measures 4 inches across and I guess its main purpose is to just fill another gap on your desk so you can play another game when you are bored at work. It comes with a fairly hefty price tag at $137 and plugs in to the mains.

I came across this video on youtube today while hunting around. It is for Gran Turismo 5 on the PS3 which is being delayed till some time in 2008 even though it was originally set to be a PlayStation 3 launch title. Never mind, the video makes up for the wait I guess. Another video of GT5 can be found after the jump.

Digital Coin Counting Money Jar

Digital Coin Counting Money Jar

Know exactly how much loose change you have

If you like collecting loose change then a smart jar is a good idea to have. As each coin goes through the slot it is counted and then the total amount is displayed on the top of the jar on an LCD screen. The jar is made of plastic with a lid which screws on. Unfortunately it does take away the fun of counting money, although I guess you could use the excuse to still count your change and test that the automatic money counter is doing its job right.

The device requires 2 AA batteries which I am sure will last a long time with LCD being quite low powered.

Sony Transparent TV

Sonys TV and Speakers are Transparent

Sony have created an innovative screen which is transparent. It has a glass face and uses a projector to project the image from behind. It does look quite cool, although quite basic at the same time. Speakers are also included which are also transparent which also look quite cool.

I do not have any other details on this at the moment and I am not sure if/when it will be available to buy.

Lego Aircraft Carrier

Lego Aircraft Carrier

Huge Aircraft Carrier made of Lego

This Lego aircraft carrier is the largest Lego model I have seen. It is built with over 200000 individual bricks and was built by Malle Hawking. It weighs over 350 pounds and has working elevators, a hangar, radar dishes and even electrical lights. By far the best idea is the catapult which can be used to launch the Lego Jets. A few more pictures of this lego aircraft carrier beast can be found after the jump.

Soundwave Transformers MP3 Player

Transformers MP3 player – Soundwave

If you could think of 1 transformer who should be created in to an MP3 player then it is Soundwave. Soundwave is one of the Decepticons (baddies) who is one of the original transformers. He now has been transformed in to an MP3 player costing $100. It isnt a bad price for the novelty idea. It has an SD card slot, headphone jack and regular music controls. Unfortunately it is not available in the UK or US and is only around in Japan. This doesnt stop you importing one though 😉

One final question you probably are asking… yes it does transform.

Lost Widget – Dharma Initiative

lost-widget
For those fans of the series Lost on Sky you will be familiar with the Dharma Initiative which is some underground bunker which has a countdown from 108 minutes. Its purpose is to test you and make sure you enter the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 in to the computer to prevent disaster. The Lost Widget is a spin off of this which you install on to your Windows or Mac OS desktop and basically every 108 minutes your PC is threatened to die unless you enter the numbers above. Ok, I doubt any damage will be done if you dont… but it is just a bit of fun.
