The video above is from PhoneDog as they have done a full review of the Motorola ROKR E6. It shows that its an iPhone which if notice it clearly is not, and its a Moto running an iPhone theme. The phone its self is not too bad but not the greatest. It runs a 2 megapixel camera, Linus Operating System, Real Player and a nice UI.
Scary Old Mice
Can you imagine having to use a mouse like this? It looks like it is dated from years back. The mouse today isnt too different from it though to be fair. Most have dropped the middle button for just 2 on the top front, but also now we see more scroll wheels and thumb controls down the side of the mouse as well as less wires and no mouse ball. More mouse pictures from that era are available after the jump.
Near Field Communications – Your Mobile Phone as a Credit Card
Near Field Communications (NFC) allows a mobile phone to be used as a credit card by swiping the phone over a plate on a vending machine for example. Of course any machine that accepts it will need to be modified to accept payment via this method. As the mobile phone over the last few years has become more popular and converged with other devices such as cameras, radio, video players and web browsing it makes sense that the wallet also be combined with it since you carry your phone around most places you go.

Playstation 4 Just around the Corner
The Playstation 3 was recently released in the UK and a few months before in Japan and the US. Already there are rumours of the next version named the Playstation 4 becoming available in just 18 months. Considering the PS1 to PS2 gap was about 6 years and the PS2 to PS3 gap was maybe 8 years, I wonder if the rumours of the PS4 being just 18 months away could be true. It makes me think that they were talking of a PS3 version 2 to be honest. Forums are already set up for the Playstation 4 although very quiet to be honest 🙂
Creative Zen Stone
The Zen Stone from Creative is their latest offering to the MP3 market. The Zen Stone is a small 1GB flash player which is similar to the iPod Shuffle in size/design etc… The Zen Stone is available in several colours as well as the white version pictured above. As can be seen, there is no screen which means that any song is randomly selected allowing for a more varied listening experience. A lack of screen can be seen as a problem, but in the case of the Zen Stone I think it is just right for what Creative are trying to sell and the market they are targetting.
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S800
The DSC-S800 is Sonys latest Cyber-Shot camera which features an 8.1 megapixel CCD and a 2.5 inch TFT LCD. The lens is quite powerful as it is a 6x optical zoom. Speed of the camera is rated up to ISO 1250 which allows you to capture fast moving action quite well. As well as the 6x optical zoom the camera has 12x digital zoom with macro mode. Overall it seems to be a well balanced camera with features for most situations. One more picture after the jump.

Furry Vision
Your average TV or Plasma screen is built out of solid material like plastic and glass. Philips decided that a different approach is necessary by introducing Furry Vision. The screen is made out of fabric with hairs which lay flat against the surface. When an electrostatic charge is applied it makes the hair stand on end. So how on earth do you get a screen out of that? Well, the hairs are one colour and the fabric is another colour. When the hairs are laying down you see blue and when they stand up you see red for example. Throw a bunch of these together and make them small enough you get a number of pixels to make up a screen. This should allow for complete images and no doubt video as time goes on.

HP Pavilion TX1000 Tablet
The HP Pavilion TX1000 is a tablet PC which has some great specs. It boasts 2GB of RAM, an AMD Turion 64×2 dual core processor and an NVidia Graphics card. This is enough power in the tablet to run Vista Ultimate Edition. With it being a tablet PC the screen is on a hinge which swivels 180 degrees allowing you to use the tablet PC as a tablet or a laptop with the full keyboard. The TX1000 makes use of sensors to see which mode you are in and can rotate the screen automatically to suit what you are doing which is a nice feature and a small time saver. The 12.1 inch screen is bright and is also a touch screen as can be expected from a tablet PC as input from a stylus is necessary.

Gadgets in 2012
Have you ever wondered what gadgets will be like in 5 years time? HP recently did and came up with a number of drawings and ideas as to what we might be using in 2012. The first is this HP laptop which can be seen above. It has virtual keys, is razor thin and is featherweight. Hopefully virtual keyboards will be easier to use in 5 years time as currently they suck.
