Concept – iPod Watch

iPod Concept Watch
iPods always have a cool sleek look to them and this is what must have inspired the designer of the iPod concept watch. Looking over it’s sleek looks you could see that this would look great to wear. The iPod watch would sport some nifty wireless ear phones and would guarantee that your not to loose it out of your pocket while running for the bus. Great idea and I do hope this one hits the market soon.

Starfish Bot

Starfish Automated Robot
The autonomous starfish bot looks incredible. It starts out flat on the floor and can learn to work and when damaged it will then limp. The algorithm that runs the robot can be adapted to more complex machinery. Plans are that the robot will sense injury and learn how to repair it’s self and adapt to the environment around it.

Global Hypercolor – The Spoon

Heatindicating Spoon
If you think back to the early 90s then you might remember the global hypercolour tshirts that you could buy which changed colours when you got warmer. Now we have the hypercolour spoon which senses how hot your soop is and gives a visual representation to it being safe or not.

Its a crazy idea but something cool for kids to use to teach them what is hot and cold.

Welcome to 2007

Welcome everybody to 2007. I hope you all had a great 2006 and a nice christmas and great new years eve. Unfortunatly the site went down due to comment spammers bombarding the blog. I have left comments to registered members only for now and will be working on a tool to block them so I can open up the comments again to unregistered members.

In 2007 we have lots of things planned for Gadget Venue Dot Com including a lot more reviews of products, a forum, a whole new design and a lot more useful links around the site to help you find details on the latest and greatest gadgets around the world.

Happy new year!!!

Sony Ericsson MBW-100

MBW 100
Its not often you come across a watch with bluetooth and that is also capable of caller ID, showing text messages and control your phones music player. The Sony Ericsson MBW-100 does just that. It’s a bluetooth watch which communicates with your phone so that you can leave it in your pocket, or on your desk and as long as you are in range then you can see whats happening. I can only see the main benefit really being that caller ID would be handy if you use a bluetooth headset. I have to admit, that it’s a great looking watch though and I could get one because of it’s looks.

RoadBox Accident Recorder

RoadBox
If you have ever been in a car accident and wish you had a witness to back your claim then the roadbox could be ideal for you. The RoadBox does exactly what you need it to. It will record your journey and if the unfortunate should happen then you will have a recording of what actually happened. The problem is that one of these would need to be on each corner of your car if you were to get hit from an angle out of the viewing angle of the camera. It is still a great idea though and ideal for those who do lots of mileage or have bad luck when behind the wheel.

Larger DS Screen

DS
Recently a number of rumours have been circulating that the Nintendo DS will soon sport a larger and better screen. The new screen will be around the 3.5 to 3.8 inch size which will certainly make the DS more competitive against the Sony PSP. If the rumour is correct then the new DS should be out mid 2007.

Skype Competition

Skype Phone
If you would like to win one of these Skype USB phones then read on. Before I pass on details of Skype’s little competition I will pass along a quick review of the above phone. I purchased one of these as a gift for a family member at christmas and it does exactly what it should. You basically plug it in, install the drivers and then you have full control over skype from the USB phone. If you push the red phone then skype minimises, if you push the skype button then it loads back up. You then have the option of scrolling through the contacts list on screen, or entering a number to dial. It is very basic and has no screen it’s self. If you are looking for a basic phone to make outbound calls then the US Robotics phone is an ideal choice at a good price.

Competition details after the jump.
