DigiMemo A402

DigiMemo A402
The DigiMemo is a great idea that uses the good old paper and a fancy pen but can then digitise the notes in to digital form. It contains 32Mb memory which is capable of holding 160 pages of notes and a compact flash slot which boosts this up to 999 pages stored. The digitised pages can then be transferred to your computer and used as notes or what ever you wish. The battery life of the device is good also. It can work for 100 hours before needing a charge. The cost of the device is 110 pounds in the UK from Selwyn Electronics.

A4Tech Optical Mouse

A4Tech Optical Mouse
The A4Tech Optical mouse is an interesting mouse because it does not require batteries. It is also wireless which is what makes this mouse interesting. Instead of using batteries it is powered by electromagnetic induction which charges from the mouse pad. The mouse pad gets it’s power from the USB connection of your PC and then transmits this power to the mouse to keep it running. I think this is a great idea. Cordless mice batteries do last quite a while, but when they die you tend to not be prepared and have to dash to the shops quickly.

It has a resolution of 800dpi and and might not make it to this side of the world. It is priced at $21 over in Korea.

LG KH1000

LG KH1000
The LG KH1000 is a new handset to hit the market. It is a HDSPA enabled slider phone which has a 2.2 inch widescree TFT screen. A built in 1.3 mega pixel camera. 2GB flash memory with 1GB SDRAM. Something that grabbed my attention is the video conferencing ability. It has a hefty price tag but seems like a powerful device with nice amounts of built in memory to justify that.

WirelessHD

WirelessHD
WirelessHD is set for a launch in 2008. WirelessHD works on the idea of having everything connected together without cables. Just looking around the back of my TV shows that this idea is great. I have several cables behind my TV and without touching them they get tangled and look a mess.

WirelessHD is a joint venture between LG, Panasonic, NEC, Samsung, SiBEAM, Sony and Toshiba. It is named WirelessHD or WiHD and it is intended to enable high definition audio and video streaming to consumer electronic devices. The system will run on the 60Ghz frequencies and data transmit speeds are supposed to be incredible. This in turn will create point to point display for HDMI and DVI.

More details will follow as they arrive.

Hela Glider Mouse

Hela have created an ergonomic mouse layout. The motion of reaching over to your mouse all day apparantly causes wrist pain and is not ideal. The Hela Glider mouse is set to combat this by putting the mouse in the middle of the keyboard (just below it). It reminds me of air hockey and glides on a pad. The response and precision is supposed to be excellent. I am not fully convinced about the wrist pain from a regular mouse. I never have a problem, but maybe that research is correct 😉

PS3 Power Requirements

The PS3’s hunger for power has been posted around today. It’s quite a hungry machine. Just to point out a few comparisons first the PS2 used around 45 watts of power. The XBOX 360 needed a little bit more juice and ate at 160 watts. However, the PS3 is set to need a massive 380 watts to keep that thing running. Thats a fair bit 🙂

Glowing Power Cable

The glowing power cable has been mentioned quite a bit today around various websites. The power cable looks like a regular powercable, but when power is being used through it then it will glow. The more power that is delivered through it the brighter it glows and then also pulses.
