LG’s U400 3G slider

LG created some great looking things I have noticed over the past year. I always thought of them as a cheesy brand. How little did I know!

Anyway, the new LG U400 3G slider has been launched and it looks fab. It has a glossy Black finish to it, has UMTS compatibility, and has a nice scroll wheel for MP3’s. Also built in is a 2 meg pixel camera and a Micro SD slot.

This new USB pen has it all. It is an actual pen which when pulled appart reveals a USB connection to allow you to connect it directly to your PC. The top part of the pen has all the controls which make this in to an MP3 player, voice recorder, and an FM radio. It has 512Mb memory built in also.

Samsung SyncMaster CX913P 19″ LCD

The new Samsung SyncMaster LCD’s look nice! The specs also look nice too ๐Ÿ™‚ This particular model (CX913P) has a built in USB hub so that a keyboard and mouse can be connected directly to the panel and also has a 6ms response time which is not too shabby either.

It allows you to connect with out a wireless hotspot from anywhere. An unlimited subscription costs just $80 a month which is not a bad amount. If you currently subscribe to Verizon then it is even less at $59.99 per month.

Greenhouse GH-PDV720-TV

The Greenhouse portable DVD player (the GH-PDV720-TV) not only is a portable DVD player, but has a built in TV tuner also. Not something I have seen before on other portable DVD players. It has a nice 7″ wide screen display and hits the market in a months time for around $213.

Acer AL1517A 17รขโ‚ฌยณ LCD Monitor

Acer are launching the AL1517A 17″ LCD monitor which comes on the market next month at around $175. It’s not bad for the price. It has a 12ms response time which is not as good as others, it has nice resolution settings (1024 x 768) and quite a wide viewing angle of 130 degrees.

Samsung P300

The P300 is the latest in the line up of mobile phones from Samsung. My first impression was that this looks like a calculator. It is a phone though ๐Ÿ˜‰ and I am sure it does have a calculator on it too.

The P300 is the size of a credit card and not much thicker either. It’s dims are 8.6 x 5.4 x 0.9cm. It’s screen is a 1.8″ LCD which is very good on the eyes.

Important stats include Bluetooth, tri-band (900/1,800/1,900 MHz) GSM/GPRS network connectivity and a 1.3 megapixel camera with flash and 4x digital zoom. If that wasn’t enough the phone manages to pack in an MP3 player supporting MP3, AAC, AAC+ and e-AAC formats, a video recorder with playback and video messaging capabilities, and 80MB of memory.

Lego AT-ST

Someone thought it would be cool to make a lego (working) AT-ST from starwars. Check out the video although it has developed some kind of funky limp ๐Ÿ™‚

Cheap Wi-Fi Routers

A company in Spain are creating a cheap wi-fi router which is set to cost only $5. The reason for this is that they want to promote the use of home wi-fi networks in to becoming public hot spots. To me it sounds like a great idea although the fear could be people using a wi-fi spot for illegal purposes and then the blame being passed to the bill payer. So, they would probably need to use some kind of proxy service so that users need to log on. Also ISP’s will need to back this up too.

Nokia N80 Video Review

This is a bit late coming ๐Ÿ™‚ But still worth a post. The Nokia N80 (out now) has the added bonus of wifi built in (which the N70 does not). This is a great move for Nokia because no one likes the sucky charges that WAP, GPRS, 3G etc… impose on us… so a wifi connection is just great. What I like about the N80 is the browser shown below. It can shrink down and then you can move a box around which will zoom in to where you want to see on the web site. Helps immensly for sidewards scrolling which should be made illegal ๐Ÿ˜‰
