Mustek Super Gadget – The DV536

What on earth is a super gadget? Mustek have created it and I will tell you 🙂 A super gadget is something that plays music, videos, has a built in 10 Mega Pixel camera and can encode footage from TV’s or DVD players as well as a whole lot more.

The mustek is an amazing looking little device that seriously packs a punch in it’s tiny case.

The price? Not much to be honest. They have squeezed all this in to a less then $200 package.

Unfortunatly it’s not really a 10 Mega Pixel camera… it’s a 5 megapixel interpolated. It is still a good bargain at the price it is coming on sale for and you will need a hefty SD card to capture recordings.

Toshiba HD-A1 Losses?

According to sources, the Toshiba HD-A1 looses $200 on each and every sale. This is iSuppli who have taken the thing appart and priced up each part. They reakon it costs over $700 to make one of these units which sells at $500.

The reason being that they want to penetrate the market before all the Blu-Ray technology comes out later on this year.

Bug Too DAB Radio

This weird looking DAB radio is really kind of cool 🙂 and sports a titanium silver finish.

You can also pause and rewind live broadcasts, set up to twenty alarms to wake you with live or recorded content (up to 15 hours on a 1GB card), and output the audio via an S/PDIF jack if those bug-eye speakers aren’t doing it for you

Asus W2JB Media-Centric

The Asus media Centril W2JB laptop is nice with it's 17" screen. It has a built in TV tuner, VGA and DVI-I TV Tuner. It has a dual layer DVD burner, weighs just under 8lbs.

Not a bad laptop and media-centric at that! It's price tag is just under $2100

Primera Blu-ray Disc Duplication System

Primera have launched the Blu-ray Disc Duplication system which is a worlds first for the new highly anticipated format. 50 discs can be loaded in to this device with a potential of 50Gb each. This makes….. 2.5Tb to my calculations of backup space. From what I am reading about this device, it has some funky robotics type thing and also can print direct to disc via a bubblejet printer. The unit is rack mountable and more then 1 can be stacked… just incase 2.5Tb is not quite enough room.

A Guy’s Dell sets on Fire :)

According to Gaston and TheInquirer a Dell set on fire in a conference. It was on the table at 1 point and then accompanied by flames shortly after. It makes me wonder if I want to take my battery powered devices on a plane, or even leave them around anywhere. Hopefully it was just something like he dropped a drink on a battery and it shorted or something. It can be kind of scary seeing things like this happen. No doubt Dell will be looking at these pictures around the internet thinking "oh dear".

The Spy Finder

Have you ever found your self in a situation where you wonder if you are being watched by hidden cameras? I cant say that I really have, but it would seem to Spy Finder that they are very concious of this being a problem and have now invented a hidden camera finder.

It uses a ring of very bright LED's and when you look through a viewing port you can suddenly see that big brother is watching you.
