A company in France has created the Nano battery which usesnano technology to make things smaller. The idea here is that you have 2 options…. keep the battery the same size and have more juice to power your device, or shrink the batter down to a smaller size to get the same amount of juice as a larger battery. The difference in power increase is several times.

The Nokia E60 was recently reviewed on Fosfor.se and found to be an excellent phone. It has a nice fold out keyboard which opens up to make the screen sit in the middle of each side of thekeyboard and then folds back to look like a regular phone with the numerical keypad. The screen runs a nice crystal clear resolution and overall the phone has a nice feel to it. Check out the full review after the pictures below via the link.

The iRiver T30 has recently had an upgrade. It now is a 2Gb MP3 player and costs around $110 over in Japan. Not sure of any release dates overseas yet.

Grundig is a name I dont seem to remember since I was a child. However, it seems either I havent been in the same circles, or they took a long holiday. Either way, they have now released the FreeView recorder which looks promising. It works on the UK's freeview network which has 30 free digital channels as well as 20 radio stations and can record the TV (a bit like Sky+). It comes with a 160Gb drive and can record programs up to a week in advance. Engadget are speculating that the device might outprice Sony and Panasonic.

Buffalo are releasing a 2TB NAS. The station holds 4 device, supports Gigabit Ethernet and RAID 5. It looks like another top product from Buffalo. More details should be announced at a later date about pricing and availability.

Not many details have been provided, but what AVING.net have found is a SODIFF WiBro handheld device which has a 4.5" screen and a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
DogHouse Electroincs have released this slim PMP called the RoverTV. The device does not have a built in hard drive as we commonly see, but gets it's data from either a 1Gb or 2Gb SD card. However, a whole host of devices can be plugged in to provide a source of data such as a portable hard drive, CD ROM, DVD, TV, FM Radio to mention just a few. The RoverTV comes in 2 screen sizes (3.5" and 4" widescreens).

JVC have launched this $12.5 grand HD projector. Unfortunatly it only has a lumens rating of 600 which isnt the best, but still watchable in a darkened room. On the good side it has a 2,500:1 contrast ratio and a high resolution of 2048 x 1536.

Mio Tech have launched 2 new portable GPS systems. Both have a 3.5" colour 65K screen which is touch sensative. They also feature MP3 playback as well as a 400Mhz processor. The devices also sport Bluetooth and mobile communications so that you can take calls on the go. Tele Atlas is the provider of the maps.

Does anyone vaguely remember the record runner? I seem to have some recollection of this. I am old enough to remember when CD's were made available…but I wasnt that old when that happened 😉
Anyway, the record runner is a VW van that sits on the record and drives around the record. It has a needle keeping it on track and it plays the music through a small amp and speaker as it drives around the record. Dead cool!

Another weird one to follow on from the toilet roll holder iPod docking station thing… Now arrives the handshaking gadget. This iBand is a gadget which wraps around your wrist and when you shake hands with another wearer a piece of information about you is beamed via infra-red to the other wrist band wearer and vice versa. Strange! LOL. Details such as contact details, business interests etc… are transferred. Hopefully these wont become standard in business and if a similar idea comes up then it should just stick to wifi or bluetooth in your pocket so you can transfer details across to other users.
