Casio has announced a couple of new point & shoot digital cameras called the Casio EXILIM EX-S200 and the EX-Z800.
Each of the cameras use the EXILIM Engine 5.0 that allows capture in what Casio call super-resolution technology that allows for better quality digital zoom for close up images.
The super-resolution digital zoom technology is capable of providing a crystal clear image at 1.5 times the range of the optical zoom lens.
The first camera announced is the EXILIM Card EX-S200. The camera it’s self is just 17.8mm thick with a 14.9mm thickness at the thinnest point. The EXILIM Zoom EX-Z800 is the next model is a little larger with Casio saying “it’s small enough to fit in the palm of a hand”.
Each camera is capable of a 4X optical zoom that starts at 27mm wide (35mm equiv). Both have a 14.1 megapixel effective resolution.
The EX-S200 uses a flat lens barrel and lens ring to achieve a thin and stylish card-sized body that smoothly combines contrasting geometric shapes. The camera was designed with an emphasis on functionality and simplicity, achieving a design that is at once elegant and understated. The EX-S200 comes in five different colors: silver, orange, blue, black, and pink. The Quick Mode function powers on the camera with a press of the shutter button, previews a photo after shooting, and automatically powers down. Combined with the portability of the card-sized body, Quick Mode ensures that the user will never miss a photo opportunity.
Overall a couple of nice looking cameras that continue to move forwards in terms of technology used.
