Casio have announced the launch of two new point and shoot cameras from their Exilim range called the Casio EX-S7 and the Casio EX-Z35. Each of the cameras has a 12 megapixel sensor along with a 3X zoom lens.
The EX-S7 is capable of capturing video at a HD resolution of 720p and has the larger screen out of the two cameras measuring 2.7 inches vs the 2.5 inches of the EX-Z35 camera.
The Casio EX-S7 as well as having the above mentioned features also is compatible with SD memory cards. Camera functions include Dynamic Photo that creates a green-screen effect while taking pictures. It uses the EXILIM Engine 5.0 system that is an upgrade to the earlier version 4.0 model. This 5.0 system uses a CPU as well as a dedicated image processing CPU and with this combination it can produce images up to 30% quicker as well as providing greater colour and image enhancements.
The EX-S7 is capable of capturing at resolutions of up to 1280 x 720 pixels by the press of a dedicated movie button. The camera is also designed to be slim by being 0.78 inches thick at the “thinnest” point. The usual face detection stuff can be found inside this camera.
The Casio EXILIM EX-Z35 also features a 12 megapixel sensor and also has 3X optical zoom. It’s a tiny bit thicker (again at the thinnest point) at 0.8 inches. Included in the camera are all the usual features such as face detection, widescreen 16:9 movies (not HD) at the push of the dedicated movie capture button as well as the ability to upload from the camera direct to Youtube if needed.
The EX-S7 camera is launching in the spring with a price tag of $139.99. The EX-Z35 will be launching next month in March costing $109.99.
