iPhone Tekken Confirmed

With the launch of Streetfighter IV for the iPhone and iPod Touch, along comes the news that another classic is heading to the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. This time Tekken is going to be launched by Namco. When speaking with Pocket Gamer about iPhone Tekken, the anonymous source said that the game was far along in development and looking good.

To paraphrase, “the game is being finished up and it plays rather nicely.”

As of now it is not known if the game was started from scratch, or if it’s just an update to a PSP version that was launched a while back but either way it should run fantastic when launched on the iPhone 3G and 3G S. [Read more…]

HTC Supersonic on Video

The HTC Supersonic was first heard of back in December when the HTC Hero Android 2.1 ROM was opened up and the name found within. A couple of months later towards the end of January, BGR managed to get hold of a leaked screen shot saying that the Supersonic was to run Android 3.0 when launched. The day after we spotted some renderings of the Supersonic showing potential of the phone (if real).

The Supersonic is said to have a large 4.3 inch screen and has been described as being the Android version of the HTC HD2 that also runs a massive screen. [Read more…]

Motorola Backflip Doesn’t Allow Non-Market Apps

Today we learned that the Motorola Backflip (AT&T’s first Android OS based phone) has a restriction built in preventing you from installing 3rd party apps on to it. Instead, users are forced now to install apps through the Android Market.

For some this might not be a problem, but for others, the reason for getting an Android based phone is to give you the flexibility to do what you want with the device in terms of installing apps sometimes not through the Android Market.

As well as blocking access to this feature we also mentioned last week that AT&T had removed Google [GOOG] as the primary search function on the phone replacing it with Yahoo! instead. [Read more…]

Bent Spoons and Forks iPhone Stand

There have been a few custom iPhone stands that have been built over the last few years ranging from a recycled CD iPhone stand to a Pencil iPhone stand.

The next on the list is an iPhone stand made of spoons and forks bent in to the shape of a stand. The forks and spoons are bent in a particular way to allow access to all buttons, controls and the screen including the iPhone dock connector underneath the phone.

It’s certainly a unique iPhone stand and although designed for the iPhone it’s not restricted to just carrying an iPhone. The creator will allow you to specify dimensions so that you can sit any other MP3, smartphone or video device in to the stand. [Read more…]

O2 Confirm Apple iPhone 4G Video Calls, or just a mistake?

O2 released new calling plans last week called Simplicity. Within those plans it has been noticed that the iPhone specific calling plans mention video calling being priced at the same price as regular voice calls. Perhaps it’s just a mistake in that “if the iPhone could do video calls then it would cost the same as a voice call”. However, this mixed with details in the latest SDK indicate that the Apple iPhone 4G could perhaps have a front facing video camera to make video calls.

These rumours are starting again due to a patent that was filed by Apple [AAPL] that showed a new iPhone 4G device with a camera in the top of the bezel which would have that purpose. [Read more…]

Mini iPhone Microphone

The Mini iPhone Microphone is designed to let you use your iPhone to record voice memos. Out of all the things the iPhone can do such as utilise apps, make calls, send messages, record video, take pictures, surf the web, act as a GPS navigator… etc… etc…, one thing it cannot do is record voice memos.

The mini iPhone microphone is a device (costing $12.99) that allows it to do just that. To get it working you simply attach the small microphone pictured above in to your 3.5mm headphone jack, move it in the direction you want to record and speak away. [Read more…]

HTC Incredible Pics Leaked

Some leaked shots of the HTC Incredible have been found on the web that show the device from the front and back (without cover). There’s nothing specifically new here other than they are different pictures to what you might have seen before which is always a good thing.

The pictures were found by a user on Twitter called DevDroid who passed the details on to Android Central.

What we currently know about the HTC Incredible is that it will run a HTC Snapdragon CPU that we think will be clocked at 1GHz along with having 256 MB of RAM. The screen is estimated at being 3.5 to 3.7 inches running in a WVGA resolution. It is also expected that the screen will be AMOLED due to how vibrant the pictures have looked in previously leaked shots. The phone will run Google Android when it launches (probably 2.1). Polish your iPhone or any other Phone to Perfection

When you get a new mobile phone you often polish the screen each and every time a fingerprint is seen on it. After a while of being in your pocket a phone also gets covered in scratches as it hits your keys, coins and occasionally gets dropped etc…

If you want to get a shiny looking phone again then you can actually polish out all the minor scratches by just using some materials and a bit of elbow grease.

Hack n Mod has created a tutorial to show you how you can get your phone looking as new again. [Read more…]

LG Windows Phone 7 Series device to be called Panther

Several days ago, Engadget managed to capture on video a new, kind of mysterious, Windows Phone 7 Series phone that was claimed to be the first handset to be made available. We are now hearing that the handset will be called the LG Panther.

No other details on the phone are known other than what we obviously see in the picture of it in that it has a full QWERTY keyboard that slides out the left side of the device along with a large touchscreen, three physical buttons below the screen that are mandatory on all Windows Phone 7 Series handsets and we assume a 1GHz Snapdragon processor that is also mandatory.
