Samsung F700 with Keyboard

Samsung F700
Samsung have introduced the F700 which is dubbed by some as the iPhone killer. If you think back a few weeks to just after the iPhone was released, Steve Ballmer from MS said that the iPhone wouldn’t appeal to some due to it having a huge price tag (subsidised) and no keyboard, meaning that business users would not want to use this because they would struggle with email and note taking. The F700 is named the Ultra Smart F700 and has a smaller screen then the iPhone at 2.78 inch supporting up to 262k colours, it also does not support multi touch like the iPhone. However, what it does have is a keyboard which slides out from the left of the phone and allows you to work in landscape mode with a full QWERTY keyboard. This feature is ideal for those who cannot part with their mobile email solutions.

Sony Ericsson Walkman W880

Sony Ericsson Walkman W880
The W880 from Sony Ericsson is the latest in their walkman range of mobile phones. It has lost some weight it seems and measures just 9.4mm thick. GSM Arena have given the phone a full review and it looks promising. Built in are 2 cameras with one being a 2 Megapixel camera and the other used for video calls, Memory Stick support, bluetooth, 3G support, Multi tasking and a lot of music capabilities. On the downside, there is no EDGE and video quality isnt the greatest. However, it is one sleek looking phone.

For a great eye catching phone with plenty of features it is well worth looking in to. Check out the full review at GSM arena.

JIT – Just in Time Watch

JIT - Just in Time Watch
As well as looking quite cool, this watch is unique in the way of using GPS to track your location and then instead of displaying the actual time, it has a count down to when you should leave to get to your next appointment on time. It is an interesting idea which could work well if the company launch it. The JIT watch still needs some refinement but could still be a great seller as it is now.

ASUS Aura Concept Phone

ASUS Aura
The ASUS Aura is a concept phone and has all the features (well, virtual features) that you could ever hope for. The screen is 3.9 inch and touchscreen. It features HSDPA, Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD and is just 6mm thick. Also there is a slide out keyboard crammed in to that 6mm thickness. No doubt by the time this is available then technologies such as bluetooth 2.0 will be obsolete as well as standard 3.9 inch touchscreens. Maybe holographic floaty screens will be the norm. We will have moved on by then 🙂 Anyway, as it’s concept we will let you enjoy the pictures of what might be in a few years time.

Samsung SCH-B680

Samsung SCH-B680
The Samsung SCH-B680 is a clamshell phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera, DMB tuner, MP3 and various other features. Opening up the device you will see a sleek looking keypad that is apears to be smooth and contain the usual numerical and function keys needed. On the outside you will see a second screen which shows a clock and also we can assume it will report back MP3 tracks playing and also caller ID information. Also on the outside of the case is the 1.3 megapixel camera. From searching around it seems like this phone is only available in Korea at the moment. As soon as pricing for out of Korea is available we will let you know.

Kensington Vo200 IP Phone

Kensington Vo200 IP Phone
Technology has revolutionised in many areas. VoIP phones have become more and more in demand as wireless technology has spread and become more accessible. A question asked by many is how VoIP can help those on the move while we have mobile phones that in essence do the same job. VoIP offers consumers what they are demanding from mobile phone networks, and that is cheap calls to and from anywhere across the globe and reliable networks. Although VoIP is not as fully accessible as a mobile network, this gap is quite quickly closing as more and more wireless hotspots appear. So in principle, the structure is already there and will soon provide complete coverage around the globe.

Nokia N800 – Disassembled

Nokia N800
We reported yesterday on the Nokia N800 with the video that someone had made. We now find today that someone else decided to take theirs apart for us all to view what actually goes on in that little device. The video below shows the N800 being taken appart and then put back together. Apparantly after all that destruction there is actually nothing that interesting inside. Everything seems covered over so that chip part numbers and other details cannot be read.

From 3G on to 4G

Over the last few years we have experienced the highspeeds of 3G mobile phone networks. This technology has allowed our mobile devices to communicate at broadband speeds which allows streaming video and audio as well as video calls. China has now stepped up and created the worlds first 4G network which steps up data transfer speeds even higher. The project is being run by FuTURE Project and expect speeds of up to 100 megabites per second which is a lot faster then the 3G speeds. This network seems like it will not be public yet and just used for trials for a few more years yet.

iPhone – 1985 Style

iPhone 1985
If Apple would have launched their Apple Mobile Phone back in 1985 when they originally filed a patent then it would have looked like the phone above. I bet it would havo sold well but would not be laughed at 🙂
