Nokia N95 Smart Phone – With Wifi

Nokia recently unveiled their latest N series (the N95). This new phone which will hit the market later this year, is packed full of some amazing features which we will list below.

The Nokia N95 features a dual sliding feature which when sliding one way you reveal the keypad and when sliding back the other way the music keys are then available. The N95 features integrated GPS, a 5 mega pixel Carl Zeiss camera and HSDPA enabled on 3G. The intergrated GPS is currently a gray area as some claim it ships seperate and others say it’s built in. Hopefully, it’s all inclusive. Wifi and Bluetooth are integrated also.

LG and Philips Slim Screen

LG and Philips have worked together to create an extremly slim screen for mobile phones. The screen is just 1.3mm which is 32% – 55% slimmer then their competitors.

Nokia N75 Introduced

Nokia today announced the new Nokia N75 at Nokia Open Studio 2006, NEW YORK. The N75 phone is the smallest multimedia computer offering digital music playback, high quality photos and rich internet communication. The N75 is a clamshell device which is thin and elegant in looks. Also the phone boasts Nokia’s easy to use interface.

When the device is closed you will see a reflective 1.36″ colour display which shows you the music you are playing which is just a button push away. Various music formats such as MP3, M4A, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA are supported and the N75 also has a graphic equalizer. Standard features sych as shuffle and repeat are also included. On a 2Gb card around 1500 songs can be stored. The N75 has stereo speakers built in which also have a 3D option to make the sound come out around you.

Built in is a 2 Megapixel camera (1600 x 1200). The main screen is a 2.4″ LCD with 16M colours. Stacks of other features such as MPEG video recording are packed in to this phone.

Enhanced web browsing has also been included with some software which allows the browser to use RSS feeds and also allows web pages to be loaded as they should look by shrinking them down.

On the connectivity side we can see that there is EDGE, 3G (WCDMA 850/1900MHz), GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) which all ads up to some seriously nice connectivity accross the board.

Xun Chi 138 – Smallest Mobile Phone

A new tiny mobile phone has been showcased recently. It’s just a little longer then a AA battery, but is very pink. The Xun Chi 138 is a GSM phone which is 67mm long. It weighs just 55 grams.

The phone has a colour touch screen and loads of apps. The touch screen allows for some handwriting recognition. The built in camera has a 1.3 megapixel ccd but is VGA interpolated to 1.3 megapixels.com. Other features it crams in there is a USB port, WAP, GPRS, MP3 with a nice 138Mb of onboard memory.

Black Diamond $300k Cell Phone

Engadget got their hands on some live shots of the Black Diamond smartphone. Currently the phone is a prototype. It has become well known around the internet because of it’s huge price tag of $300k. 5 of these phones are going to be made and will each feature a 400Mhz cpu, Wifi, and quadband GSM. Helium Digital HD-880 Bluetooth Headset with LCD

I have never heard of Helium Digital, but they have made a nice headset featuring an LCD display on the side. The number just displays simple information such as the number of the person calling and also gives the connection status which is useful in it’s self with connections occasionally dropping.

Leaked Pics of Motorola Linux E690 PDA

No announcement has been made, but it seems that Motorola are working on a RAZR type touch screen PDA phone which features linux.

The phone features a QVGA 262K TFT touch screen, 2Mp digital camera and flash. It can also play various music formats and has stereo speakers built in. It has WAP, and full browsing also as well as many other standard features such as Bluetooth.

Greenphone – reprogrammable Linux phone

Trolltech, who brought us Qtopia which is a linux-based mobile application platform have now announced the Greenphone which is a fully reprogrammable linux phone. The phone is created for developers but still is a very usable phone for others and can be used as an every day phone. In general, companies want to protech their software. With the release of the Greenphone this will allow developers to experiment and innovate which will surely bring some nice apps to phones and break down some barriers.

Samsung K5

This is another player I love the look of. It is a small sleek looking device which has a nice illuminated front panel and some nifty slide out external speakers. The player has a battery capacity of 30 hours when using the headphones and 6 hours when using the external speakers. It will be coming out on the 10th September at $209.99 for the 2Gb version and $259.99 for the 4Gb version. A video has been posted after the jump which gives a nice review of the device and what it’s capable of.

The K5 boasts an FM radio and supports a number of formats such as MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10 and JPEG. It will be first coming out in black but later on they will ad a pink version to the line up.

The K5 also features a built-in FM radio tuner and supports MP3, WMA, WMA DRM10 and JPEG formats. It is available in black and will ship later in the year in pink.

The screen is an OLED touch screen which houses all the controls and graphic equalizer type things that make this look so fine. Enjoy the video 🙂

HP iPAQ rx4000

HP have launched an iPAQ which is based around the Windows Mobile 5.0 OS but as the picture shows below, it seems that they are wanting to promote the music and video capabilities of this device. I have always liked the Windows PPC platform to work with and I find they are very functional.

What sets the iPAQ aside from from your average HP iPAQ is that this device has more built in media type applications. It has been designed with the consumer in mind. The screen can rotate the image so that it can be worked with in either portrait or landscape mode. We expect this device to hit the markets at around $299.

Pantech IM-U140

The Pantech will be hitting Korea soon. The IM-U140 is a multimedia handset which has a 2.6″ wide screen (WQVGA) display which is touch screen. The camera is a nice 3 megapixels. Other features it boasts are a built in DMB tuner, 4-channel steror speakers, MP3, built in games and a dictionary. It’s not the most feature packed device to hit the market soon but it does look like a nice phone.
