Phone Sensor

This LED phone sensor has been introduced to give a visual alarm of incomming calls to a mobile phone. It’s not the greatest of ideas in my opinion and would look better just sitting on your desk iluminated at all times. It is available for $20 and more details can be found below.

Shure E500PTH Now In UK

Shure have started to ship their headphones in the UK. The E500PTH in-ear monitors are not cheap.. they will weigh in at $550, but promise amazing sound quality from the amazing 2 woofers and 1 tweeter. The earphones isolate about 90% of external noise. There is a feature called PTH (Push to hear) which will allow you to listen to noise outside with out taking them off which is handy. This function activates a microphone that picks up the noise and plays it over the ear phones.

The 3 speakers in each ear phone offer rich lows and precision highs in sound quality and are supposed to do to headphones what HDTV did to the TV.

The sound isolating sleeves have 2 roles. The first is to block ambient noise while the other role is to make a customised fit for comfort. Ears are all different in size and Shure have taken this in to consideration by giving 3 sizes (small, medium and large) as well as a universal foam which will be good for all ear sized. When installed correctly it blocks out the ambient noise while enhancing the bass.

The sure engineers have also listened to user feedback and now provide 2 cables with the ear phones. One is 9 inches long and the other is 3 foot long. This allows you to taylor the cord to what kind of activity you are doing.

From what we can see, they seem to have got everything covered here.

E-TEN M600+ – Windows Mobile Device

The E-TEN M600+ is being launched and is similar looking to the older model (pictured below). Just a slight rebrand. The E-TEN M600+ runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 for Pocket PC. It has a Samsung S3C2440 processor inside which runs at 400Mhz. It has 256Mb Flash ROM installed and also has the option of using an SD card to increase storage. Wi-fi and Bluetooth are built in. The device uses a wireless manager to switch these on and off which is easy enough and can be achieved with about 3 clicks of the pen on the screen. No problems with that! There is no infra red, but who uses that anyway? Since the arrival of Bluetooth and Wi-fi I dont think I have ever switched on my infra red ports on anything.

The device supports Microsoft Direct Push which is compatible with MS Exchange servers. Very handy for business use!

The LG Fusic phone is the latest to the market. It’s real number is the LG550 an it is available from Sprint right now. It has excellent battery life and quite a cool looking design. The phone has A2DP and an FM transmitter which scores it good marks too. The downside is the multi tasking capabilities of the music. There are 2 players. One for listening to music from the Sprint Music Store and the other for other apps on the phone. The review says thay the fusic is more geared towards the occasional listener.

The Nokia E70 is a Symbian based SmartPhone. Gadgets.fosfor.se managed to get their hands on one for just a couple of days which was only enough to do a mini review of the device.

The device boasts a nice looking screen which has a resolution of 352 x 416 pixels. This is double that of most Nokia phones. The phone has a folding keyboard which is a qwerty layout with the screen in the middle as one half of the keyboard sweeps over the top. The GUI is very easy to use, as all Nokia phones are. More details at the link below.

Triple Watch Cellphone

I just love these concept designs from Yanko Design. The Triple Watch Cellphone is a wrist watch that converts in to a mobile phone. Seems more like a transformer watch. If used as a speaker phone it can remain on the wrist while driving.

MobiBlu DAH-2200 MP3 Player

The MobiBlu DAH-2200 is a decent looking player. It has 1Gb of onboard flash, MP3/WMA/WAV support. 13 hours of playback. It includes an FM receiver, voice recorder and the last and weird thing is the 2 headphone sockets I guess so 2 people can listen. I havent seen a device with 2 headphone sockets since my sisters bright Yellow Sony splash proof sports walkman.
