The iOS 4.1 jailbreak release date could be as early as this weekend.

On Twitter a tweet was sent out that said the ETA was 10/10/10 at 10:10:10am.

Next webOS Device Could get a 1GHz CPU

The next generation webOS device could include a 1GHz processor. This isn’t really interesting for those running the latest generation Android and other various smartphones as 1GHz has been around a while now.

However, those running a Palm Pre Plus and the likes, are currently stuck at 600Mhz which makes a 1GHz jump a nice step for those owners.

Not much is known about the next generation webOS based device. What we do know is that HP will of course make it, and it will run webOS 2.0 from what we understand. We have heard that it is code-named Palm Mansion. [Read more…]

Verizon iPhone 4 Rumors Firing Up Again

Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple [AAPL] is about to start manufacturing a CDMA variant of the iPhone 4 ready for a launch on the Verizon network early in 2011.

The CDMA chip is said to be built by Qualcomm and with it, it will allow the iPhone to be compatible with the different network in the US. [Read more…]

Samsung Transform gets Full QWERTY and Runs Stock Android

A document leaked shows a few more details about the Samsung Transform. The Transform is seen in the documentation sporting a four row QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard looks similar to what is being used in the Samsung Epic 4G.

The documents also reveal that the Transform will run a stock version of Android 2.2 rather than a modified UI such as TouchWiz. This of course could change when the device lands, but for now it appears that stock is the way forwards for the device. [Read more…]

HTC Sense Website Now Active

The HTC Sense website is now active. The new service allows HTC smartphone users to connect up to the cloud to store data on. Information such as contacts, text messages and other details can all be copied over to the cloud so that if a problem happens, all of your data is kept safe.

Samsung Omnia7 WP7 Smartphone Spotted on Video

The Samsung Omnia7 i8700 has been spotted and captured on video. The Omnia7 looks to have the Samsung Hub as part of Windows Phone 7 that allows you to view the weather, news as well as get other bits of information.

The device looks to be quite slim with a large screen on the front. Not much is known about what runs inside other than the obvious minimum specs that Microsoft attach to a chassis 1 type phone. [Read more…]

The T-Mobile G2 has a “feature” built-in that certainly will upset a few people.

HP webOS Phones to Launch Next Year

A senior VP at HP (Eric Cador) said over in Barcelona at a recent conference… “you will see us coming early next year with new phones,”.

He didn’t particularly specify what phones would be arriving, as in what OS, but I think it’s safe to think that he is referring to webOS. Note that he also said Phones and not just a Phone meaning that two or more smartphones could be landing early next year. [Read more…]

Google Goggles Arrives on iPhone 4 and 3GS

Google provided an update to the Goolge App yesterday on the iPhone. A new feature added to the Google App includes Google Goggles that allows you to take a picture of an object and have Google scan and recognise what it is.

The Googles service has been on Android devices for several months now and this is the first time you have been able to run it on your iPhone.

Rather than downloading it as a single application, you now just load up the Google App and when doing a search you can now hit a camera icon that is situated next to the voice icon. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S Sales Hit 5 Million

Samsung has a goal of shifting 10 million Samsung Galaxy S smartphones within the first year of launch. Just a few months after launching the smartphone around the world they have already hit 5 million. Just a month ago an announcement was made that 1 million of them had been shifted in the US.

It’s hard to say if they will reach the 10 million target as demand for the phone will naturally die down as various other Android smartphones get launched. However, they are off to a good start.

With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab around the corner, this will also boost sales of the range of Galaxy Class devices. [Read more…]

Motorola CITRUS Andoird Smartphone Announced

The Motorola CITRUS is another Android based smartphone although this particular model runs the older Android 2.1 OS rather than the latest Froyo version.

The Motorola CITRUS has been designed to work on the Verizon [VZ] network and has a 3 inch screen with a QVGA resolution. Memory wise, it has 100MB of user space and a 2GB pre-installed microSD card. The 2GB card can be replaced with a card up to 32Gb in capacity.

The phone works on CDMA 1X EV-DO Rev 0 networks. [Read more…]
