TEW-648UB_d2_3TrendNet have launched the TEW-648UB that is a very small Wireless N USB adapter. It isn’t much larger than a quarter and is capable of transmitting up to 150MB/second making it rather a snappy device.

The adapter is easy to set up and uses one-touch Wi-Fi protected setup (WPS) technology. Signals are all encrypted if needed also. Other features include wi-fi multimedia (WMM) as well as Quality of Service (QoS) allowing you to easily prioritize traffic if needed. XBox 360 Wireless N Adapter Priced

xbox-wifi-adapterA price tag of $100 has been set for those who want to purchase the upcoming 802.11n adapter for the XBox 360. This makes it $20 more than the 802.11g. By using wireless n as well as dual antennae, it will be possible to stream content at 1080p if required that will come from the Zune Movie portal.

EPSON-Postcard-PrinterAccording to Akihabara News, Japanese folk love postcards… a lot. For this reason a number of manufacturers create postcard printers designed to just print postcards. Epson is the latest to create one and have made the Address Expert E-800 and the smaller E-600 printers.

Each printer is compatible with ether a PC or a Mac up to Windows 7 and OSX 10.6. They each have a resolution of 5760 x 1440 dots per inch and they have a 7″ LCD on them. [Read more…]

Worlds Most Affordable 3D Scanner – The ZScanner 600

zscanner600A new 3D scanner has been unveiled by the Z Corporation company. They claim it’s the worlds most affordable 3D scanner, but at a price of $28,900 it’s still not cheap.

The camera is capable of capturing 3D data and putting that data in to a computer and has a resolution of 0.1mm with an accuracy of up to 80 microns.

The ZScanner 600 is a handheld device that you use to capture a number of shots of your subject and the data is then pieced together to create a 3D model. [Read more…]

Asus Eee Keyboard – Launching October

Toshiba 160GB 1.8″ Single Platter Drive Launched

toshiba-MK1634GAL-1-8-inch-hard-driveUp till now, the largest 1.8″ single platter harddrive had a capacity of 80GB. Toshiba is about to change that though as they have created the same physical sized drive but with a 160GB capacity instead.

The new Toshiba drive is numbered the MK1634GAL and spins at 4200 RPM. It isn’t a SATA drive, and instead uses a PATA interface. The drive also has some soft of acoustic management technology which makes it also run quieter which is another bonus. [Read more…]

TomTom XXL 530S and 540S Launched

TomTom-530-vs-330TomTom has launched their latest PND (ie, GPS satnav) units that have a 5″ widescreen display as well as upgraded routing technology. The new routing technology is based around IQ Routes that calculates the quickest journey time based on historical data.

Apple Tablet Rumours Begin Again

apple-tabletNow that the new range of iPods have been officially announced it’s time to get back to the rumours of the Apple Tablet. The latest is that industry sources have said a new 9.6″ multitouch screened tablet from Apple will be on it’s way February 2010 and will include built in HSDPA along with a decent battery for keeping the thing running for a decent amount of time.

A PA Semi processor is to be used and the price tag will be somewhere between $799 and $999. Shipments of the Apple Tablet are said to get to Apple for December ready for the launch a couple of months after that. For the battery, DynaPack are reported to be creating 300,000 per month and Wintek are said to be creating the screens. [Read more…]
