Pen with 4GB Flash Drive

4gb usb_pen
A lot of people carry around pens with them. These days a lot of people also need to carry flash drives around with them. This ball point pen comes with a 4GB flash drive built in. Not only a 4GB flash drive is crammed in there though. It also has a laser pen in there too although it’s not as powerful as TechLasers 125mW green laser. It makes for the perfect geeky presentation device. All what is needed now is a mini projector in the end of the pen and you have a PowerPoint presentation right in your pocket.

The device costs $99 which isnt bad for a 3 in 1 device like this.

Dell Crystal Display

Dell LCD
Dell announced that they are selling a seriously cool looking LCD display. It is named the Dell Crystal Display and measures 22″. The max resolution for this LCD is 1680 x 1050 and it has a very good response time of just 2ms. Built in to the Dell Crystal Display is a webcam as well as 4 speakers. The cost… Just $1199. Although very pricey I have to admit that it does look great.

The Das Keyboard II is Missing Something

das-keyboard
The keyboard above is odd in that it has no text written on any of the keys. They are completely blank. According to claims made by Das, this type of keyboard can quickly better your typing skills as most people tend to look down at the keys when they type. With them having no key marks on them, it quickly gets you out of the habit of looking for the next key to type. The F and J keys have markings on like a regular keyboard so that you can feel where to put your hands when starting to type.

The Das Keyboard II is available from Amazon and costs $79.95 which might seem a bit barmey. But, it does sport gold plated clicky keys which allow for better typing and up to 50 million key strokes as opposed to 10 – 15 million on your regular keyboards.

The old pixel has been a slave to the monitor and LCD for years. Thousands of them can be seen on your screen. The PixelBlock has broken away from the screen on to your desk. With PixelBlocks you can create 2D and 3D images on your desk by slotting little pixels together in 3 different ways. Pizza Box PC Mod

pizza_box_pc
This Pizza box (from Little Caesar) contains a fully working PC inside. Of course there is no pizza in there ;). When the lid is flipped it reveals the motherboard, PSU, hard drive and DVD player. None of the actual equipment seems to be secured down too well as you can see the sticky tape holding various parts in place. However, how often do you really need to shift your PC around for that to be a problem? More pictures of the mod are found after the jump. However, the trash can computer is my favourite PC mod at the moment.

Shopping Cart Seat

Shopping Cart Seat
If online shopping has you hooked and you need that constant reminder of it then a shopping cart seat is perfect for you. It is made from old shopping carts/trolleys and is shaped in to a seat.

However, it costs an arm and a leg to buy at $2700 although that was back in 2001. Hopefully the shopping cart seat is a lot cheaper these days.

If you have even more money then you could go for the giant mopowered shopping cart to get the whole family in.

Trash Can Computer

Trash Can Computer
This computer mod is one of the craziest I have seen. It is shaped like a large bin (trash can) and has all you need to use it as a PC in your home. If you flip open the lid you will see a number of components squeezed in there such as the PSU, motherboard, cables, CD drive etc. Around the back are the connections to hook up a keyboard, mouse, monitor and all your USB devices. No details on the specs though although with a bit of effort, anything could be put in to the can.

More pictures after the jump.

eee
The ASUS Eee PC is a small computer which comes with either Linux or Windows XP installed. Many have commented that Vista will not fit on it. Paul over at MoDaCo managed to squeeze vista on there and has provided instructions on how to do it. He used an Eee PC (unmodified) with 4GB of storage and 512MB RAM. An SD card was needed as well as a Vista DVD and a 1GB USB stick. For full instructions on how to get Vista on your Eee PC check out the full instructions over at MoDaCo.

Dell Tablet PC to be Launched

dell-latitude-xt-tablet-pc
Dell have released information today on their first Tablet PC. It is named the Latitude XT and has some great specs too. The feature that stands out most is the touch screen display. The touch screen is very sensitive and does not require pressure from a finger or pen. What you do is just gently glide your finger across the screen. The touch screen is also multi-touch ready which will be made use of at a later date. The pen has an erase and the ability to right click, but does not require batteries to function. These features are what steps it up a notch in my opinion. The Latitude XT weighs just 3.5 pounds and the screen is 12.1 inches which can be viewed outdoors.

On the insides it has 1Gb of memory, a 1.06Ghz Intel Core 2 Solo ULV processor and a 40Gb hard drive. Of course wi-fi is standard too. Battery life is an impressive 9 hours which I assume is with wi-fi switched off. Unfortunately the price tag adds weight to this tablet PC as it will sell for $2499. Ouch.
