Samsung F700 with Keyboard

Samsung F700
Samsung have introduced the F700 which is dubbed by some as the iPhone killer. If you think back a few weeks to just after the iPhone was released, Steve Ballmer from MS said that the iPhone wouldn’t appeal to some due to it having a huge price tag (subsidised) and no keyboard, meaning that business users would not want to use this because they would struggle with email and note taking. The F700 is named the Ultra Smart F700 and has a smaller screen then the iPhone at 2.78 inch supporting up to 262k colours, it also does not support multi touch like the iPhone. However, what it does have is a keyboard which slides out from the left of the phone and allows you to work in landscape mode with a full QWERTY keyboard. This feature is ideal for those who cannot part with their mobile email solutions.

Sony Ericsson Walkman W880

Sony Ericsson Walkman W880
The W880 from Sony Ericsson is the latest in their walkman range of mobile phones. It has lost some weight it seems and measures just 9.4mm thick. GSM Arena have given the phone a full review and it looks promising. Built in are 2 cameras with one being a 2 Megapixel camera and the other used for video calls, Memory Stick support, bluetooth, 3G support, Multi tasking and a lot of music capabilities. On the downside, there is no EDGE and video quality isnt the greatest. However, it is one sleek looking phone.

For a great eye catching phone with plenty of features it is well worth looking in to. Check out the full review at GSM arena.

Pocketec 12GB Nano Harddrive

Pocketec 12GB Nano Harddrive
Portable storage is becoming more popular as time goes on. With time passing, we also see larger memory cards becoming available as well as larger flash drives. However, the seriously large flash drives still can cost hundreds and it’s not often worth spending that much knowing that in 6 months time the price will be half what it was when it first came out. So, along comes the Pocketec Nano drive. The nano drive packs 12Gb of storage on to it’s 1″ squared unit. Inside there is a small harddrive which stores all the data. With being able to store so much data in one place, you need to be aware that you run the risk of loosing a lot of data. As far as we can tell, there is no built in encryption so it might be worth while being careful what you keep on this thing. If it’s just your latest movies and MP3’s then I guess you have nothing to worry about.

JIT – Just in Time Watch

JIT - Just in Time Watch
As well as looking quite cool, this watch is unique in the way of using GPS to track your location and then instead of displaying the actual time, it has a count down to when you should leave to get to your next appointment on time. It is an interesting idea which could work well if the company launch it. The JIT watch still needs some refinement but could still be a great seller as it is now.

ASUS Aura Concept Phone

ASUS Aura
The ASUS Aura is a concept phone and has all the features (well, virtual features) that you could ever hope for. The screen is 3.9 inch and touchscreen. It features HSDPA, Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD and is just 6mm thick. Also there is a slide out keyboard crammed in to that 6mm thickness. No doubt by the time this is available then technologies such as bluetooth 2.0 will be obsolete as well as standard 3.9 inch touchscreens. Maybe holographic floaty screens will be the norm. We will have moved on by then 🙂 Anyway, as it’s concept we will let you enjoy the pictures of what might be in a few years time.

Haicom HI-505SD Bluetooth GPS SDIO receiver

Haicom HI-505SD Bluetooth GPS SDIO receiver
Haicom have introduced the HI-505SB bluetooth receiver. The device plugs direct in to your SD slot on your portable device such as a Pocket PC. The device has no batteries and it uses the battery of your Pocket PC to keep it going. If you are worried then you will have lost an SD slot then no need for that… you just plug in the SD memory card in to the receiver and you still have access to all your files/maps and what you need. The GPS receiver is a SiRF Star III GPS device and this also crams in a bluetooth antenna in there too.

No prices are available yet but we expect them to be announced shortly.

Kodak 100 Year Photo Ink

Kodak Ink
Kodak is launching an ink cartridge that will allow photographs to be archived for 100 years. Apparantly standard ink jet cartridges will start to fade and go bad after 15 years. Also to add to this, the ink costs half the price at $9.99 for Black and $14.99 for colour. These prices are compared to competitors prices such as HP, Epson etc… The Kodak printers that these cartridges are for are capable of printing 22 photos per minute. s have said good things so far. We do not know yet the quality of the print, but we can hope that Kodak wouldnt release a product with bold claims and then mess it up with bad quality images. Maybe I best print some pics now and then report back in 100 years to let you all know how they looked.

Wifi Liberator

Wifi Liberator
The Wifi Liverator is a USB dongle that makes your wireless internet service usable by the public. If you are using a paying type service in a hotel for example, then you can plug the liberator in to your laptop and this creates a private network for others to share the wireless connection if they do not have an account with the provider. No doubt this will be classed as bad by the ISP’s. I am not sure I could ever use this though. Wifi is not too secure and even less secure in public hotspots. I personally wouldnt want to add even more risk to the equation by allowing others to share with me direct an internet connection. I will be passing on this but still thought I would share to let you share your comments on if you think sharing wifi should be or should not be allowed. There is no doubt that companies need to lower their wifi access costs, but I am not sure this is the best way yet to fight that cause 🙂

LED Based Notebook from Fujitsu

LED Fujitsu Notebook
The P7230 is a new LED based notebook launched by Fujitsu. It falls in to the catagory of ultra portable and comes in 2 colours which are black or white. It weighs just 2.9 pounds and had a small 10.6″ LCD display which is in a widescreen format. For the traveller this looks to be an excellent choice with it’s light weight and small size. The unit is powered by an Intel Core Solo U1400 processor allowing longer battery life which is much needed amongst travellers. A memory card slot replaces the floppy drive, and the harddrive is also shock protected to help keep your data more safe. The price is quite high, but this is what can be expected from the ultra portable range of laptops. Prices start at $1699 and go up higher depending on what options you choose. The Fujitsu is well worth looking out for if you are about to look for a new ultra portable laptop.

MPNavi Tomato U7

MPNavi Tomato U7
As well as supporting a unique name, the Tomato U7 is not a bad looking PMP. The U7 is small, weighs 25 grams, measures 38x64x14mm and has a 1.8 inch screen in there which supports 65k colours. It can play a variety of formats such as MP3, MP4, WAV, WMA and more. Built in to the device is an FM tuner allowing you to also listen to the radio. What caught my eye is the cool looking equalizer showing a visual representation of the music and allows you to adjust the different frequencies so that you get a better sounding song. The U7 comes in 3 memory sizes from 512Mb to 2Gb.

XBox 360 Mods

XBox 360 Mods
If you want a 5.8 inch widescreen LCD putting in the side of your X Box 360 then look no further. This mod which doesnt seem to have a point was created by a mod happy firm and they are offering this mod to anyone who can find a use for it. The screen acts like your TV and displays on the side of your XBox what you would see on the TV. The only real use I can think of is wanting to run media on the device such as music. You can leave your XBox running and not have to worry about switching the TV on. Apart from that I have yet to find a real practical use for this feature. Check out the video after the jump.

Samsung SCH-B680

Samsung SCH-B680
The Samsung SCH-B680 is a clamshell phone with a 1.3 megapixel camera, DMB tuner, MP3 and various other features. Opening up the device you will see a sleek looking keypad that is apears to be smooth and contain the usual numerical and function keys needed. On the outside you will see a second screen which shows a clock and also we can assume it will report back MP3 tracks playing and also caller ID information. Also on the outside of the case is the 1.3 megapixel camera. From searching around it seems like this phone is only available in Korea at the moment. As soon as pricing for out of Korea is available we will let you know.
