No announcement has been made, but it seems that Motorola are working on a RAZR type touch screen PDA phone which features linux.
The phone features a QVGA 262K TFT touch screen, 2Mp digital camera and flash. It can also play various music formats and has stereo speakers built in. It has WAP, and full browsing also as well as many other standard features such as Bluetooth.

For about 2 years I have been visiting BenHeck.com because of his custom made portable gaming system’s he makes. He has custom made many from an Atari 2600 to now an XBox 360. Check out the new laptop below 🙂
The laptop xbox 360 packs a number of things inside it’s relativly small casing such as a HD LCD screen, water cooled custom built radiator. The water cooled radiator allows a smaller form as the heat sinks in the xbox 360 are HUGE.
He has added a built in keyboard, wifi and it has a USB connector with 3 ports. The case is made of aluminium. It also has various connectors on the back to connect a variety of other screens if the inbuilt HD wide screen is not big enough for you.

ThinkGeek have a power converter on their site which works in more then 150 countries. It has various pin layouts for the various types of sockets you find in different countries. A cool feature of the power adapter is the USB connector which allows you to charge a number of small devices such as a mobile phone, PDA and other 5V devices.
It sells for $24.99 and comes very useful for the frequent traveller.

The new Cybershot DSC-T50 is touch screen. This allows for an already good camera to be even better. The touch screen adds extra functionality allows photo editing and also to write/paint on photographs.
As well as the 3″ touch screen, the T50 has a 7.2 Megapixel CCD, ISO1000 and 56Mb internal memory. The camera also sports image stabalization.
The T50 will be released in Japan on October 13th in black, silver and red. No official announcement has been made about a US or European launch but we do not expect it to be too far behind.

Things that levitate are cool 🙂 The levitating clock is no exception to this. It floats with the help of a magnetic field and tells the time also. With the help of a rotating mechanism it will also slowly rotate in the magnetic field also which provides even more entertainment.
To get it working you plug it in, hold the clock in the “sweet spot” and let go. If you get it right it will stay there and float around.
For just $24.99 you could wake up to the old 80’s style Mario game tunes with this Super Mario alarm clock. It is shaped in the form of an old NES 8-bit controller and even features a bonus game on the small LCD clock front.
Trolltech, who brought us Qtopia which is a linux-based mobile application platform have now announced the Greenphone which is a fully reprogrammable linux phone. The phone is created for developers but still is a very usable phone for others and can be used as an every day phone. In general, companies want to protech their software. With the release of the Greenphone this will allow developers to experiment and innovate which will surely bring some nice apps to phones and break down some barriers.

Ikea have launched an interesting mug which has a little notch cut out of the base so that water can freely run out of the top when it is put in the dishwasher. Ikea have hit the nail on the head with this one 🙂 It’s frustrating when your lifting things out of the dishwasher only to find that all the mugs have water in the top of them as it has no where to run 🙂 At about 50 cents each I think I will be making a trip there tonight.

I just came across another video at Youtube which shows some kind of display with plates that you sit on the screen for different things such as weather reports, sports etc… Not sure if it has much use yet except for a museum peice or in a school, but it’s cool to watch and shows a little of where display technology could go adding a little more interaction to it.
This interesting idea takes the mixture of an ant farm and digital to make the Virtual Ants. This desktop device is designed to sit in your office so that through stressed times you can watch these little digital ants built their nests and feed their queen.

Projection clocks are kind of ok but you really have to squint to be able to see the time. However, the Oregon Scientific Projection Clock is different. This clock’s projector is light sensative and can adjust accordingly to the various light levels that change through out the day. The clock looks quite cool and I wouldnt mind having this in the house. What ads more to it’s coolness is the ability to wave your hand at the sensor to change display settings and even turn off the alarm. That last part is not good for me though… I need the alarm to keep going 🙂
The face of the clock is a black smooth surface which shows the time and temperature and ads to the sleekness of the clock.

Kenwood have introduced several new car radio’s which were launched at IFA 2006 in Germany. These new systems each come with a USB connector which allows many different types of MP3 player to plug directly in to the car stereo. The USB connection is also compatible with not just MP3 players, but mass media and other types of USB devices also.
If the attached device contains a recognisable format then the radio will pick that up and the option to then play the file will be available. Files can be stored in MP3, AAC or WMA.
Two versions of this radio are available. A 1-DIN and 2-DIN. The 1-DIN models (numbers KDC-W534UA, KDC-W5534U, KDC-W6534U and KDC-W7534U) have a cable on the back of the player in which the device can be plugged in. The 2-DIN models (numbers DPX501U and DPX701U) both have the USB connector on the front panel.
The inbuilt software alows easy navigation of your music and is much similar to that on your PC. As well as USB there is also an optional feature which supports an Apple iPod.
