Reactor Watch – Lights up for 10 Years

Reactor Watch
If holding your watch up in the light for a few minutes to make the hands glow is not enough, then the Reactor watch feature tritium-filled tubes which will keep the thing alight for around 10 years. The watch is named the Superluminova and recharges instantly with just a small amount of light which then keeps it illuminated for up to 10 years. That’s a long time and I sincerely hope you do not plan on staying in the dark for 10 years to test if it stays lit for that long.

It will set you back $300 – $450 over at Reactor Watch.

GM OnStar High Speed Pursuit Preventive Technology

A prototype technology has been introduced from GM named OnStar. It allows the police to send a signal to your car which automatically reduces the power of your vehicle and gradually brings you to a full stop. Although I have seen similar technology in Europe, I do not believe any one uses a system like this yet. I just wonder if every car eventually has this, how do they pin point which car slows down… or will every car around the police car come to a halt.

I am kind of for this technology as all police chases are crazy. However, if I was just forced to stop for a routine check then that would be frustrating.

Casio Blogging Camera

casio_exilim_ex_v8
Bloggers, or vloggers (video bloggers) now have a camera to choose from which has Youtube features built in. The Casio Exilim EX-V8 has a setting to optimise your videos for Youtube at just the right resolution. Uploading is simple with the YouTube up loader which you run and will automatically upload the videos you have made. It is a nice small addition to the excellent Exilim range of cameras and I am sure will be welcomed by those who utilise YouTube for their vlogging activities.

On the technical side, the V8 has a 7x optical zoom lens and the camera has some nice features such as anti shake and face detection technology. For those wanting a quick way of taking pictures with anti shake in youtube format then this is well worth checking out.

Robotic Self Healing Chair

This self healing chair has the ability to collapse on demand and then build it’s self back up by tracking it’s parts, lining it’s self up and then attaching together. I think it will make for a cool prank on someone in a restaurant who is annoying you.

Super Cool Candle Holder

pupill
I never expected to say a candle holder was super cool, but in this instance the Pupill candle holder gets that title from me. This candle holder will take all sorts of various candle sizes. By twisting the collar of the holder the two heels move together and grab the candle. It gets it’s name because of the holder looking like a pupil of an eye. It is built in Sweden and costs $60. It will be available in a few hand picked stores over in Sweden soon.

Nike+ Amp iPod Watch

Nike Watch

The Nike+ Amp is a watch from Nike which you use with your Nike+ iPod running kit. The watch allows you to get instant progress on your running distance, time, speed or calories burned.

It also works as a regular watch, with a durable polyurethane strap and LED’s whch tell the time in regular mode or display the iPod Nano’s controls when being used in Nike+ mode.

The watch is reasonably priced too at $80, which I think is good since it can be used as a regular watch too! It’s currently only available in USA, but hopefully it’ll be released in Europe soon.

Cassette Tape Tote Bag

cassette_tote
The cassette was big a number of years ago. The days of recording the top 10 on to a 90 minute cassette are long gone, but the cassette is still not forgotten and now, this huge cassette bag has been created. The handles look like tape coming from the top of the bag. As can be seen, this is the C-60 tape which could record 30 minutes each side. However, no recording will be done with this as it’s just a bag to carry your MP3 player and what ever else you can throw in there.

The Cassette Bag costs $14.99 from ThinkGeek.

Yamaha Tesseract Concept

Tesseract
The Tesseract from Yamaha is a concept bike which has 4 wheels. Yet, it still looks like a bike. The bike is a hybrid which sports both a V-Twin engine and an electric motor. Supposedly it is the same width as a regular bike and can stay stood up when not in use. It’s a cool concept idea and one that will be interesting to see built.

Moving Mannequin for Shop Windows

movingmannequin
This mannequin is different to any other I have seen. It actually runs on the spot to demonstrate the clothing in motion. Several modes are available which can see the mannequin walk, jog, run and cycle. This is a one of a kind mannequin and would certainly grab attention of passers by. Costing £5639.98 you wont be buying this for your home.

Mario and Duck Hunt Custom Cartridge Clock

mario-duck-clock
This old 8-bit NES cartridge has been converted in to a wall clock. The idea is quite cool and has brass hands attached to a quartz motor which is then put inside the old Nintendo NES game. It costs $18 and mounts on to a recycled acrylic stand. I like this one!!!

Shredding Paper the Yanko Design Way

Green Shredder
A cool concept idea has landed from Yanko Design again. This time it is the Green Shredder. The green shredder is pretty much a normal paper shredder with a twist. Once it has diced and sliced up your paper it then recycles the paper and makes it in to useable paper such as post it notes and what not. Cool idea… will it happen? Not sure. Still a great idea though.
