Cool USB Flash Drives

USB Flash Drive
These USB flash drives are not what you normally see. They are custom built from old cars and I must admit that they do look rather cool. Each costs $17 and has a capacity of 256MB. Another picture is available after the jump.

RC Helicopter Picks Prize with Duct Tape

A store in Mansfield Ohio in the US decided to use an RC helicopter to draw the prize to win a free RC truck. I must admit that this is a fairly creative way of accomplishing this.

Citroen 6 Wheel SUV

Whoww 6 Wheels SUV Cooool!!!Amazing videos are here
Here is a fairly odd looking SUV built by Citroen which has 6 wheels and is named the C-Crosser. According to one source, four of the wheels are powered by an engine and 2 of them by electric. I do not know fully why they chose that config yet, but I am sure someone will comment with the answer soon 🙂

Aeroscraft ML866 – Huge Blimp

Aeroscraft ML866
The Aeroscraft ML866 is a combination blimp and plane which can take off vertically and fly similar to a plane by using the small wings. Most of the lift is provided by the helium inside. Inside it will have 5000 square feet of space which makes it fairly large to transport goods and passengers around. It will be capable of flying 155mph which is no where near the speed of a plane, but yet seriously fast for a huge inflatable.

A prototype of the beast should be ready in 2010.

I guess you now have a new excuse as to why the lawn wasnt cut… the lawnmower flew away 🙂

LampLamp – Light Bulb with 2 Screw Threads

LampLamp
The LampLamp is a weird idea which takes a regular lightbulb shape, but adds an extra screwthread on to the bulb part which is where the power is drawn from. When hanging from the ceiling it looks like the bulb is not actually plugged in. Although weird, it is kind of a cool idea. It will set you back $28 per lamp for one of these which is a tad steep. But if you like to be different then this is for you. The bulb is powered at 30 watts which isnt too bright, but good for a desk lamp or a low lit room.

C620 3D GPS Mapping

mio-c620
The C620 utilises MioMap 2008 which is a new version of sat nav software. Maps are provided by TeleAtlas which allows for nice up to date maps. As well as being a regular map, some 3D models of landmarks, buildings and other features have been included which immerses you in to the map even more. The C620 will have a 4.3 inch touch screen which we are not sure if it is widescreen or regular aspect.

I have to admit that the map image shown above does look great and will add to the whole GPS experience when driving. This is one I will be keeping an eye out for.

Omni-Directional Treadmill

A company named Virtual Space Devices Inc. has created the omni directional treadmill (ODT). The treadmill can slide around on 2 axis allowing people to be immersed in a digital landscape and roam around freely. You will notice on the video above that when changing direction there is little if any inertial residue.

The device could be used for a number of things such as entertainment, exercise and business use. When used for business it could allow people to walk around a virtual building to see what it is like before it is built.

The whole idea looks quite cool. All we need now is something on the z-axis to replicate stairs and hills and we are set.
