I am sure that every one of you who reads this has played the game where your spoon or fork is used as a plane so that the baby can be fed. If you havent fed a child then ask your mother or father if they pretended your spoon was a plane when you were younger. The Baby Spoon Plane is a very simple idea. You get a regular spoon and fasten the plane on to it (as shown above). This really does add a new level of realism. No doubt if your plane noises are not fooling your kids then hopefully this one will 😉

Altec Lansing T515 Bluetooth Speakers
Bluetooth has become a very handy feature to have on mobile phones. It allows you to connect to other bluetooth devices such as other mobile phones, bluetooth headsets, PCs and other devices that are located with in 100 meters or so of you. It is fairly quick to use, has some nice transfer rates and cuts out the old wires that we do not like to see anymore.
The Altec Lansing T515 speakers above are also bluetooth and they allow you to connect any bluetooth device that supports the audio profile. This allows you to play music from your mobile, wirelessly to your speakers. This is a cool idea in my opinion and very handy to have around. If you feel the need to listen to some music then just connect the phone, and hit play. No more getting out of your seat to switch on the stereo.
The speakers measure 7.5 x 3 x 2.4 inches which makes them fairly small and portable enough. As well as being able to play music, it can also act as a hands free kit for your mobile phone.

Ezex Navzen GPS
The Navzen N700 is a GPS navigation device that was shown over at CeBIT 2007. The screen is fairly large at 7 inches allowing for easier reading while driving. The screen is also touch screen which allows you to input your destination. Memory can be increased on the device through an SD memory card slot. As well as having the navigation software, the GPS device is also tucked inside. USB 2.0 allows for high speed connectivity between the device and computer so that files, maps, music etc… can be transferred quickly. Bluetooth connectivity is also included which we assume allows you to send files via your cell phone and possibly use the device as a hands free kit for your mobile phone while on the road.
The system runs Windows CE and has a 500MHz processor to help things run smoothly. Just looking at the huge screen and glowing buttons to the side makes this one stand out from the crowd. No pricing or availability dates are known yet, but we will keep you informed as we hear more information.

The Ultimate Smallest MP3 Player
In the image above you will see a seriously small MP3 player which doesnt lack features either. It has a small screen, 2GB of memory, can play MP3, WMA, ASF and WAV and weighs next to nothing. It does make you wonder why they didnt just build it in to the ear phones rather then spend all that time making a device so small you would loose it. Along with those standard features the MP3 player also has a built in FM radio receiver so that you are not restricted to your own music selection.
The Ultimate Smallest MP3 Player (that is its full name) is powered by a 3.7V lithium battery which we assume has plenty of kick to power this device for hours. Connectivity is provided via a USB cable allowing you to switch the music around.
It costs $99.95. Part of me thinks it is over prices for the size of the thing, although the smaller the package the harder it was to build.

USB Heated Gloves
If you ar like me, then your hands often get freezing while working on a computer this time of the year. Along comes USB Heating gloves. This is one of the more useful USB devices I have seen in a while and is an excellent idea. To get it to work, you put them on your hands and then plug them in to an available USB port. Around 5 minutes later your hands will start to feel the warmth and productivity at that point begins to increase as you can now type again. If you are far away from the base unit of your PC then then each glove has a 46 inch cable attached providing enough room to move your hands and not feel fastened to the desk.
Geardiary got their hands on a pair of these gloves and did a full review.

Veda Series Laptop – 20 Inch Screen
For those who miss having the large screen that a desktop offers while you travel on the road, the Veda Series laptop from Malibal could be for you. It features a massive 20.1 inch 1680 x 1050 WSXGA LCD Active Matrix Display, two hard drive bays with the option of RAID 0/1. The processor is an AMD core-duo chip and the graphics are displayed with the NVidia SLI chip set. Running the SLI GPU it allows 2x the performance due to it having multiple GPUs. This allows for CAD, 3DS MAX and other software to run easily.
The dual-core processor is a Turion 64 which allows for true multi-tasking and multi-threading allowing for a smoother experience. Other powerful features of this notebook is the RAM capacity which allows for up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, TV tuner with remote control, integrated 802.11G wifi and bluetooth and a 7 in 1 card reader.
Unfortunately I cannot find mention of battery power, but having all these features does make you wonder if it could be a decent amount of time per charge.

OCZ Reaper HPC Edition
Computer systems these days suffer with heat problems and need all sorts of fans, vents and heat sinks to keep them running cool so that the performance is kept at best and the system stays stable. For the type who love to overclock their PC (make it faster then it was designed for) the problem of heat increases. OCZ Technology specialises in reducing heat for processors and memory and has now created the Reaper HPC Edition. This is DDR2 memory PC2-9200 running at 1150Mhz and has a thermo-conductive copper heat pipe that acts as a conduit to help move the heat away from the RAM.
Having heat pipe technology, it quickly rids the heat and allows the memory to run at lower temperatures, thus allowing overclocking. With OCZ specializing in overclocking they allow this type of activity without voiding the warranty.

Sony Ericsson – TrackID
Sony continue to churn out some nice features on their W range of mobile phones. The latest feature is named TrackID in which you can record a sample of a tune you like, submit it and then comes back the answer to what the song is called, what album it is from and who the artist is. This is a very innovative idea from Sony which will allow many an annoyance to be solved when you just cannot remember the track that is playing. You also get the option to have the details sent to you as an SMS message with the service.

VisionQuest LCD TV
VisionQuest is not a company or brand name I am familier with, but I came across this LCD screen over at OhGizmo. The screen has the capability to display 480i, 480p, 720 and 1080i with a contrast ration of 1200:1. Response time is also quite quick at 8ms allowing for a nice clean/quick picture to be on screen.
Connectivity on the screen is not short and it has all the major types such as HDMI. Costing less then $1000 it is a bargain for a screen of this size.

Converting your Laptop to an SSD Drive
SSD (solid state drives) are very handy devices for a few reasons. First, they use less power and therefore can allow your battery powered device to run longer between charges. Second, they have no moving parts and tend to be built for slightly harsher environments. However, on the downside they are more expensive per GB to purchase. If money isnt a problem and you want to buy your self an 8GB+ card then read on.
This mod will allow you to convert a standard SSD drive in to a 2.5 inch laptop drive. The device is made by Addonics and is a compact flash adapter which allows you to connect 2 compact flash cards and connect them to where the regular laptop hard drive would sit.
On the downside also, you wont get the best speeds of the latest SSDs that are out but it is still a cool mod that can be done if desired.

New Sony RHT-G800 Cinema Stand
Personally I love huge big hi-def TV’s, and what better to acompany your nice shiny tv then this new stand from Sony, which features 5.1 built in speakers (the .1 being a subwoofer and not just a portion of a speaker). The technical people over at Sony have managed to recreate the surround sound-esque feel whilst keeping the speakers all neat and tidy within the stand. This is done to avoid the clutter that surround sound systems often create.
A touch screen remote and 4 inputs all but complete this stand allowing a plethora of devices, such as a dvd player, PS3 and even the good old Sky+ Box.
The stand will be available from May 2007, so get saving people!
Wii Remote USB Charger
If you are worried about running out of batter power in your all important Wii Bowling match then you need not worry any more. The Wiimote USB charger allows you to dock your Wiimote in a USB cradle and charge it up when not in use. This will ensure that every time you want to play you will always have a fully charged controller.
Power for the cradle is gained from the USB port on the back of the Wii console meaning no additional power outlet is needed. You are not restricted to using the USB port on the Wii and can use any USB for a PC, laptop or any other device with a USB output. The battery in the Wiimote is Lithium-ion and does not have problems with memory effect like other types of batteries can.
