Remote House Door Locking

Remote House Door Locking
Remote locking on cars has been around for years. However, I have not seen it before for a house. This device allows you to unlock your house just like you would your car, via remote control. It is fully programmable and allows up to 19 keys to be stored in its memory bank.

Priced at $300 it might be a little steep, but it does cut down a lot of space and allow you to lock your doors from a 50 meter range. All you now need to do is program the bedroom lights to blink 3 times and your burglar alarm to chirp every time you leave for the day.

8-Bit Tie

8-Bit Tie
ThinkGeek have created the 8-Bit Tie which is made from 100% silk and is clip on. You can have this 8-Bit tie custom designed just for you. If you are not sure what an 8-Bit tie is then think back many years, or ask your father, and remember what games used to look like on the NES and Sega Mastersystem which were both 8-bit consoles. Thinking back you will remember many platform games, with very blocky graphics. This is what inspired an 8-Bit tie.

All you need now is an 8-Bit haircut to match and you will be good to go.

Infrant ReadyNAS NV – Full Backup Solution

NAS
Data storage has become more needed in each of our lives with digital cameras being used daily, music being downloaded, videos being watched and much more. The problem you will come across one day is that the harddrive of your computer which you store this data on will more then likely crash. If you are like me then you probably do not have backups of the data and still know inside that it would suck to loose all those precious photo memories.

The Infrant ReadyNAS NV+ is a full backup solution allowing you to store data on its drives. It has 3 USB ports, 4 x hot swap SATA drive bays. It comes in 2 configs. Either empty allowing you to purchase the discs or it comes full with 2Tb of storage available in RAID format. It connects to your home network via a gigabit ethernet port and can be used to store all your files on it.

With it having RAID functionality, this means that should a drive break down, then you just replace it with a new drive and no data is lost. This is due to the way a RAID system works. RAID puts files on more then 1 disk so that in the event of failure a new drive just gets repopulated with the files stored in a second location.

Plasma Pong

Plasma Pong
Pong has been a well known game for many years now. It was launched by Atari in 1972 and was the first video game to become very popular although it was the second video game to be released after Computer Space. This newer version of Pong is far more advanced then the regular bat and ball you were used to on the monochrome screen. It uses plasma effects, particle, gravity and a lot of music to immerse you in to a very different game of pong.

The video below shows you how the game is played and you can see the plasma and vacuum effect that happens with your paddle to allow you to sneak the ball past the opponent. Check out the video below, and then go ahead and download the game. It is great fun to play. To play you use your mouse to move the paddle up and down the screen and clicking creates more plasma. Use the number keys to change the environment and gravity settings.

Sony NV U92T

Sony NV U92T
Following in Sonys way of slimming things down, the NV-U92T follows this trend. It is a very slim GPS sat nav system which is just 2CM in depth. It has a 4.8 inch wide screen display which is also touchscreen. An interesting feature that caught my eye is the gesture command support. If you draw a picture of your house it will navigate you home. The device has 2Gb of internal memory and can be expanded by using a Sony Memory Stick.

Unfortunatly we do not have pricing or other details yet, but as soon as they arrive we will get them out to you.

AAA Powered Cell Phone

Philips AAA Powered Phone
Loosing power to your mobile in this day in age is like loosing an arm. I have seen a number of people have to suddenly go home to charge their phone because they dont want to miss that all important text message from a friend.

Philips has launched a new celphone which supports the use of a backup AAA battery which allows up to 3 hours more of talk time on the handset. The phone is named the Xenium NRG and its primary source of power is a regular phone type battery and the AAA can be put in as a secondary battery.

The idea is actually great and more useful then I first imagined. AAA batteries have an advantage over regular mobile phone batteries in that they are a lot cheaper and also come fully charged off the shelf. Also availability is far greater with them being in almost every shop you walk in to.

IXOs Luxury HDMI Cables

IXOS HDMI Cables
Cables connecting devices may seem not so important, but when you compare quality side by side a good cable suddenly becomes very important. IXOs has introduced luxury HDMI cables which offer full-HD 1080p and range from just 1m to 11m in length. To get better quality images on the screen the connectors are silver plated which is the key to minimising losses in quality. With this cable there is not just 1 sheild protection, but a triple sheilding.

The combination of wire, connectors and sheilding give the best possible picture quality with the least possible loss. Costing from 109 pounds to 268 pounds you expect to be getting the quality you pay for.
