Apple AirPrint via Mac/Windows Could Be Delayed

AppleInsider has reported that AirPrint in iOS 4.2 could be delayed indefinitely for those who would connect up to a printer on a Windows or Mac based device. Rather than being able to print to a shared printer as originally planned, it seems that this feature might be pulled out of iOS 4.2 and instead of using shared printers, the system might only work with wireless printers in the HP range.

Specifically, the five models mentioned are the following…

* HP Photosmart Premium Fax e-All-in-One Printer – C410
* HP Photosmart Premium e-All-in-One Printer series – C310
* HP Photosmart Plus e-All-in-One Printer series – B210
* HP ENVY 100 e-All-in-One Printer Series – D410
* HP Photosmart eStation Printer series – C510″

Apple [AAPL] is believed to have created some iPad 2 adverts. The commercials were shot in New Yorks Pier 59 by a photographer called David Sims from Britain. The commercials were said to use the current iPad first gen model although it is believed these particular shots containing the iPad will be switched out with iPad 2s when launch time approaches.

One of the participants told us that even though there weren’t any new products on the scene, everyone had to sign non-disclosure documents and security was tight.

Apple iPad 2 Rumors Indicate Two Cameras

Although we are still several months away from Apple [AAPL] releasing the iPad 2, we continue to hear rumours about what will and will not be included. The latest rumour indicates that the second gen tablet will have a couple of cameras with one being 5 megapixels and the other being VGA, presumably for the front for FaceTime calls.

Although we could easily guess that the iPad 2 will have two cameras due to FaceTime and the call for it, there is a little bit of evidence to back this rumour up. The information comes from an investment firm that claims OmniVision will be supplying the CMOS image sensors. [Read more…]

Apple iPad 2 Patent Points to Landscape Dock Connector

Some documents have been submitted to the European Trademarks and Designs Registration Office by Apple [AAPL] which reveal an iPad style device with two dock connectors. One is on the landscape side and the other in the usual portrait side. This isn’t the first time we have heard of an iPad with two dock connectors.

In a post a few weeks back, websites mentioned that the second landscape dock was actually part of the original plans and that Apple decided to not use it at the last minute and got rid of it. With these new documents, it now seems that the iPad 2 could possibly get the extra dock connector. [Read more…]
