iLunascape iPad Web Browser Review

The iLunascape web browser for the iPad was launched a few days ago. The application adds a few features that the built-in Safari browser doesn’t have.

One nice addition that we spotted immediately was tabbed browsing. This is possible in a way on Safari, but requires you hit a menu button to jump out of the current browser window and in to another. With iLunascape, the tabs are listed across the bottom of the screen which you can tap on to jump straight to the website you want. Up to six tabs are supported at a time which is less than the nine windows you can use in Safari, but the fast access to them is the bonus here.

The iLunascape browser works quite quick too. When using multitouch gestures to zoom in and out there is no lag and the zoom is as smooth as it is on Safari. [Read more…]

Apple iPad shot with a Shot Gun – All About Cheaper Tax Preparation

This is a new way to get your message across. A tax preparation company has created an advert of an Apple [AAPL] iPad being shot with a shot gun. The video is filmed at high speed so it can be slowed right down to show the effect of the glass shattering as the bullet flies right through the back of the iPad.

The reason for the advert…

Paying too much for tax preparation is a lot like…throwing money away.

7 Inch Apple iPad Could Arrive by Christmas

Rumours about Apple [AAPL] releasing a smaller iPad have been around before. Today they have resurfaced with details indicating that a 7 inch iPad could land around Christmas time this year.

Although this is a new iPad (if it arrives), we wouldn’t label it an iPad 2 in a way that our understanding of it shows that it’s just a smaller version of the current iPad that is available right now.

The information comes from Digitimes who is correct in some cases but also not correct in other cases. However, they are reporting that a 7 inch iPad from Apple is almost ready to be assembled over in Taiwan. [Read more…]

Kindle and iPad Screens Compared Under Microscope

Keith over at Bit101 got his hands on a USB microscope. After realising that holding it to a Nexus One, he could see the individual pixels, he decided to test what the Amazon Kindle screen looks like compared to the iPad screen.

This isn’t a scientific experiment to prove that one screen is better than another. Images were just captured out of curiosity to see what the two screens look like when compared to each other as well as a comparison to a printed newspaper. [Read more…]

Photoshop Express for iPad Released

Adobe has released a new version of Photoshop.com Mobile. The new version has been renamed to Photoshop Express and now functions fully on the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Previous versions running on the iPad had to use pixel doubling to fill the screen.

The application was launched yesterday in to the app store and for those who already have the original on the iPhone, you’ll get an update through the Apple App Store.

The Photoshop Express application on the iPad is basically the same as it was on the iPhone in that you can load up an image and enhance it with various controls. With the iPad having a much larger screen, the editing experience is improved although the results are the same. [Read more…]

As well as making the iOS 4.0.2 update available for the iPhone, Apple [AAPL] has also pushed out a new iPad iOS update taking it from iOS 3.2.1 to iOS 3.2.2. The update simply fixes the PDF security hole.

Installation is quick, around 5 – 10 minutes including the download time and doesn’t change anything on the iPad other than a quick update in the About menu to show it’s on 3.2.2 and of course, it breaks the iPad jailbreak for now. [Read more…]
