XVid for iPad Made Possible through CineXPlayer App

The Apple iPad only allows videos to play natively that have been processed through iTunes. If you copy other video formats to the iPad, they are not recognised.

This new app is called CineXPlayer and it allows you to play a number of formats on your iPad. To get it working you use iTunes File Sharing where you can easily drop files in to a folder to be copied on to the iPad. Once copied over, the videos (in most formats) can successfully play. Two-in-One iPad Connection Kit from China

When the iPad launched a camera connection kit was also launched along side it. The kit contained two connectors. The first connected direct to your camera and the second allowed you to attach an SD card to the iPad so that image files can be read direct from a memory card.

The is new version is a two-in-one version that puts both together in to one unit for the same price. Right now, it’s only available over in China and isn’t officially made by Apple. It costs $29 just like the official kit that comes in two parts. [Read more…]

MoviePeg for iPad Launches

We originally wrote about the MoviePeg iPhone Stand back in March this year. The original was a single peg that attaches to the side of an iPhone to prop it up at a better angle for watching movies. It’s a simple, cheap and fantastic idea.

The iPad launched in April and a lot of people have been wondering if a MoviePeg iPad stand would be made available… the answer is yes, and it’s available now.

The MoviePeg iPad stand is similar to the iPhone version, but because of the iPad being larger, you need to use two MoviePegs instead. When ordering the MoviePeg for iPad you actually get two that can snap together to keep them safe whilst travelling around. [Read more…]

It’s a common thing to check on how much one country pays for an expensive gadget when compared to another such as the different between a US and UK price of the iPad from Apple [AAPL]. What we haven’t seen before is an iPad data cost comparison that shows how much each country pays in terms of per gigabyte of data.

Tableau has created an interactive chart that shows exactly what you can expect to pay in the country you are using an iPad. At the top of the list is France where Orange network users can expect to pay $25.47 per gigabyte of data. Apple iPad 2 Could Get Camera

Update: This is probably just a copy/paste error from iPhone documents although it is still believed that an iPad 2 is being worked on and it will likely contain a camera. Original post below…

It doesn’t seem that long ago that Apple [AAPL] launched the iPad and already the second generation model is being looked forwards to. It is expected that Apple will launch a new iPad next year and follow on like the iPhone in terms of a yearly product release.

What we can expect from the iPad 2 is a follow on from the iPhone 4 in that it will feature a front facing camera, a retina display (of course a higher res than it currently is due to the larger screen) with perhaps sensors such as a gyroscope built in. Design wise, we suspect Apple will keep the same design for a couple of generations.

In regards to the camera rumour, AppleInsider has found information in the iPad management profile policies that indicate the camera can be disabled… which indicates if the ability to disable it is there then the ability to enable it in future generations is also possible. [Read more…]

iPad gets Autodesk Fluid FX App

Autodesk is releasing a new app tomorrow for the iPad and iPhone called Fluid FX. The new app is based around Autodesk Maya that is used in films to create visual effects on screen. The app isn’t an exact clone of Maya as the desktop is obviously a lot more powerful, but Autodesk have got it to function quite well from what we see on the video (embedded below).

The application it’s self provides a way for you to easily manipulate photographs in a fluid type motion. It allows you to easily stretch a face around, change the shape of an object at the same time as keeping the textures looking right.

The apps on both the iPad and iPhone can detect up to 10 multi-touch inputs making the app easy and powerful to work with. [Read more…]

LG Struggling to Make Enough Screens for iPad

The Apple [AAPL] iPad has sold extremely well to the tune of 3.3 million units we heard earlier this week.
