Notion Ink Android based SmartPad Spotted

notion_ink_smartpadSlashGear received some renders and life shots of a new SmartPad being created by Notion Ink. As of now the SmartPad has no official name although we do know it runs the Android OS and from what SlashGear have mentioned it also runs a new NVIDIA Tegra T20 chipset that can support full HD video playback at a 1080p resolution.

The Notion Ink SmartPad has a 10.1 inch display capable of displaying 1024 x 600 pixels. The display comes from Pixel Qi and has a matte finish. Entry can be performed either via touchscreen or by a built in trackpad. [Read more…]

Pioneer DreamBook Light U11 CULV in Australia

Pioneer-DreamBook-Light-U11-CULVPioneer have launched the DreamBook Light U11 CULV laptop that comes with a choice of four processors including an Intel Core 2 DUO CULV, Core 2 Solo CULV and two variations of Dual Core CULV processors. The display measures 11.6 inches and is backlit by LED and supports a HD resolution of 1,366 x 768 pixels in a 16:9 aspect ratio.

For memory you get support for up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and for storage you can choose between various SATA and SSD based drives starting at the standard 160GB HD going all the way up to a 1 TB Laptop hard drive. SSD options start at 64GB capacities with the largest being 256GB. [Read more…]

Google Branded Chrome OS Netbook

chromeos-netbookIt appears that Google [GOOG] are working with a company to actually build a Google branded netbook. Reasons for this are more than likely to be that they want to get a Chrome OS netbook running with the exact specifications that they want rather that what the manufacturers want.

As well as creating it’s own branded Chrome OS netbook, Google are also said to be working closely with companies such as Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo, Qualcomm, TO and Toshiba to name a few.

From what TechCrunch mention it seems that Google are aiming for next years holiday season to launch the netbook. [Read more…]

CheherryPal Launch $99 Netbook Called Africa

cherrypal-africa-01CherryPal have launched a new netbook called Africa. The real interesting thing here is that they are selling it for $99. For the $99 you get a 7 inch screen along with a 400 MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and 2GB of storage.

The Africa netbook runs either a Linux or Windows CE operating system and is designed with developing countries in mind allowing the digital divide to close up. [Read more…]

Apple Tablet Fake Spotted

apple_tablet_fake_videoAlthough we are looking at another fake here, it’s still a cool fake at that. We are not 100% sure it is fake as you never really know till the official announcement, but lets call it high 99%.

The Apple Tablet videoed below shows a sleek and slim device that has coverflow functionality along with a very fast interface. The problem with the interface is that it might be a little too smooth and perhaps not an interface at all (maybe just a video for demo).

A look at the video also shows some kind of Ikea interface where you can drag and drop new colours on to a kitchen for example. It all just seems too perfect, and at the end of the day I don’t think Ikea would be the first usage to get a demo. [Read more…]

Kohjinsha DX Dual Screen Netbook Unboxed

Dual-Screen-NetbookThe guys over at wow-pow.com managed to get hold of a Kohjinsha DX dual screen netbook for review. The full review hasn’t been completed yet although they say it will be ready in the next 24 hours or so. For now, they just go through a quick unboxing and then give a demo of how the dual screen opens up.

When opened the screens lay flush with each other giving a continuous smooth surface to work with. Also the screen is attached like a tablet PC and can be rotated around and folded back although neither of the two screens are touchscreen. For controlling the DX in tablet mode a couple of mouse buttons have been included on the edge of the screen along with an optical mouse and finger print reader. [Read more…]

TechCrunch file a Lawsuit against JooJoo Creators Fusion Garage

crunchpadAfter a few days of silence from TechCrunch about the JooJoo being unveiled on Monday, they have finally spoken up saying they have filed a lawsuit against the JooJoo’s creators Fusion Garage.

The causes of action include Fraud and Deceit, Misappropriation of Business Ideas, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Unfair Competitition and Violatioins of the Lanham Act.

ASUS Eee Pad Tablet in the Works

ASUS-Eee-PadASUS are getting ready to launch a new device they will call the Eee Pad. The ASUS Eee Pad is a tablet based device that will have a screen measuring between 4 and 7 inches that will function as a tablet and MID.

The Eee Pad was inspired by rumours of Apple launching the Apple Tablet from what sources told Digitimes.

ASUS are well known for their Eee range of netbooks and should they add a tablet/MID to that range it will further boost the series of small devices. [Read more…]

Dell Android Tablet to be Revealed at CES 2010

dell-logoPocket-Lint has found out information saying that an Android based tablet device will be revealed at CES 2010 by Dell. The tablet will go head to head with a number of new tablets such as the JooJoo and Archos Internet Tablet.

The new device will sit between the size of a smartphone and a netbook with the screen size measuring 5 inches. The device from Dell will run the Android OS operating system and be launched sometime next year in the UK. It is expected that the Dell Tablet will be first revealed at CES 2010 in January. MiNEW N20U Netbook

MiNEW_N20U_1MiNEW have launched a new netbook called the MiNEW N20U that has a 10.1 inch LCD screen offering a 1024×576 display resolution. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and comes standard with 1GB of RAM.

For storage the N20U comes supplied with either a 16GB SSD or 32GB SSD and for connectivity the netbook has wireless networking built in although it’s not clear just yet which variety is installed, we suspect 802.11g at the most. [Read more…]

Rumor: Apple Tablet Arriving March 2010

apple-tabletRumours are floating around again about the Apple Tablet which previously was “scheduled” for the second half of 2010. The new rumour says it’s actually arriving in March 2010.

According to this rumour the device will have a 10.1 inch touchscreen LCD display that will be LTPS rather than OLED that was previously mentioned. LTPS means Low Temperature Poly Silicone in case you were wondering.

Other information says the Apple Tablet will have a 64GB SSD installed for storage. [Read more…]
