Acer Aspire 5738PG 3D Laptop

acer-3d-laptop_AsLIb_54Acer are launching what they claim to be the worlds first 3D laptop. It is named the Acer Aspire 5738PG and allows you to view both 2D movies and photos as 3D content. Also, games will have the ability to run in 3D if they support DirectX 9 and above.

The downside of all this is that you will still have to wear the funky glasses pictured above. If that isn’t a problem for you then your good to go. The 3D effect works by Acer using an in-house software application along with a special coating over the screen. By using the polarized glasses it gives a 3D effect.

Acer calls the new system “TriDef 3D Experience” and the special coating seems to be where most of the work is done. The coating attaches to the screen panel pixel by pixel and by using the filtered polarised glasses you get to see the images from a slightly different angle in each eye to give the effect.
