Windows 8 will likely release in the summer of 2012, but we could see the first beta version of it arrive September 2011 thanks to a road-map that has leaked. Although the specific date is not mentioned on the road map, what we do see is that the M3 coding is about to begin.

This means that the M2 milestone phase is about finished and when M3 is complete a beta could roll out, followed a few months later, perhaps at CES, with another beta and then on to the final product around the summer of 2012.

Motorola Xoom Tablet Will Not Include Flash Support at Launch

Verizon has added a dedicated page to its site showing the Motorola Xoom along with the release date of February 24.

The screen shot above shows a few of the already known specs but also hints that Adobe Flash will not be available on the tablet at launch. The reason for this is believed to be because of Motorola waiting for Adobe Flash 10.2 to be launched for Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Although for some this might cause a problem, the release date is suggested as Spring 2011, so essentially, it wont be that far away till it is made available. [Read more…]

Ixonos is a Finnish company that is in the process of designing and building an interface for Android 3.0 tablets. The new interface is designed to bring a windowed approach to the tablet that allows users to move apps around in windows on the screen.

This new interface brings a familiar desktop feel to tablet computers allowing, for example, the mail app to be opened and resized in a window on the left of the screen, while the right side of the screen could house a browser. You’re not just restricted to two windows either as windows can be dragged and resized and put any where on the screen, as well as overlapping each other like found on a desktop. [Read more…]
