iPad Available at BestBuy.com

BestBuy.com in the US is now selling the Apple iPad. Prior to this weekend, you could only reserve an iPad at BestBuy and then pick it up instore.

All six models of the iPad are available at the moment with each of them having free shipping. The price is slightly higher for some reason, only 99 cents higher, but if you can’t or don’t want to get one direct from Apple, then you now have another choice. [Read more…]

Motorola 10-Inch Android 3.0 Tablet Photos

Although we’ve seen the Motorola Tablet demoed by Andy Rubin last week, at that time we only got a brief view of the tablet with no specifics as to how it looks. Some new pictures have been sent in to Engadget that show the tablet a little more closely although mr Blurrycam took the pics, so don’t expect anything too spectacular.

What we do see is that a webcam is located in the bezel at the top along side a Verizon logo. The name of the tablet isn’t known at the moment but it could be either Stingray, Everest or Trygon. [Read more…]

Barnes & Noble Making 18,000 Nook Colors Per Day

Notion Ink Adam Pre-Orders Start Today

In a few hours from now at 1:30pm EST, the Notion Ink Adam will be made available for pre-order. At that time, the tablet will be available to existing commenter’s and then at 7:30pm EST it will be available for pre-order for those who haven’t commented or registered an interest on the site..

The price of the tablet has changed since the last announcement although it has changed in the right direction, as in it has dropped. The price for the tablet will be $375.33 rather than $399. The 3G model is now priced at $435.33. [Read more…]

Boy Genius Report managed to get hold of a BlackBerry PlayBook to test and see what its all about.

Android 3.0 Demo on Motorola Tablet at Dive into Mobile

At the Dive into Mobile event held last night, Andy Rubin was demoing a Motorola Tablet device running Google Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).

The tablet is called the MOTOPAD which is a prototype model that was used for the demonstration. As expected, Honeycomb is designed for the tablet. When booting up you get a new lock screen and once past that you get a new designed home screen “desktop” that contains widgets and buttons. [Read more…]

RoverPad Android Tablet Announced

Rover Computers, a company based in Russia, has announced a new Android tablet called the RoverPad.

The RoverPad has a 10 inch screen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is resistive rather than capacitive. The tablet supports full HD at 1080p. It has a 1GHz ZT180 processor along with 256MB of RAM and 2GB of internal storage. [Read more…]

HTC to Focus on Android while Watching Tablet Market

HTC VP Jack Tong has recently spoken about the company plans for smartphones and tablets. In regards to tablets, right now they are watching the competition and are thinking of entering the market. When speaking of the iPad he believes that sales of those tables have affected laptops/desktops more than they have smartphones.

In regards to plans for smartphones, HTC is currently sticking to Google Android as its main choice although they are evaluating more of localised versions of Windows Phone 7. [Read more…]

Dell Streak on AT&T Android 2.2 Update Arrives

The Dell Streak tablet has recently been getting updated to Android 2.2. The roll-out started out for customers who purchased the tablet without a contract. We now hear that those on the AT&T network in the US are now beginning to receive the new Android 2.2 update.

Archos Tablets Android 2.2 Froyo Update

Archos has announced that a good number of its Android tablets will be getting an update to Android 2.2 (Froyo) shortly.

Sharp Galapagos Launching December 10

Sharp is about to launch the Sharp Galapagos range of tablets. Problem here is that they will only be going to Japan. When they launch on December 10 they will have a price tag of $474 and $653 (both at todays exchange rate) for the 5.5 inch and 10.8 inch models respectively.

The smaller 5.5 inch model has a resolution of 1024 by 600 pixels, while the larger model has 1366 x 800 pixels. [Read more…]
