JooJoo 2 Landing in 2011

The JooJoo launched a few months ago in the first quarter of this year. Sales haven’t been as good as Fusion Garage expected although in Europe and Asia it is supposedly doing quite well.

On to the JooJoo 2. We now hear that a new model will be coming out sometime next year and will differ in that it will run a version of Google Android. The new tablet might come in a few different versions as the founder of Fusion Garage said they wanted multiple models out there, but also said that the original JooJoo would not be available when number 2 launches although it will be supported. Samsung Galaxy Tab to Cost $400 at Sprint (with contract)

Sprint will be subsidising the Samsung Galaxy Tab when it launches on November 14. The price will drop $200 down to $400 when signing up for a two year contract. The downside is that it will cost you $30/month for 2GB and unlimited text messages. To get 5GB of data you need to double the cost to $60/month.

We can’t say we are too excited for the launch of the Galaxy Tab as it’s price higher than we originally thought. The contracts are not too cheap either which is another reason to rethink a few things. [Read more…]

BlackBerry PlayBook SDK and Simulator Announced

RIM has announced the PlayBook simulator as well as the SDK for the new and yet to be released tablet.

The new PlayBook SDK was announced along side the Adobe Air 2.5 announcement from earlier today and confirms that Air 2.5 users will soon be able to integrate with the SDK to create apps for the device. [Read more…]

Notion Ink Adam Tablet to Have 15 to 20 Hour Battery

The Notion Ink Adam Android tablet has yet to arrive, but the founder of the company says that when it does launch, the battery will be capable of powering the tablet for 15 – 20 hours on a single charge.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi Version Landing At Best Buy

Best Buy will be selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab when it launches in the US next month. As well as selling the regular WiFi + 3G version of the Tablet, Best Buy will also offer a cheaper WiFi only version.

The Galaxy Tab WiFi version has the same 7 inch screen as the 3G version. It also runs Android 2.2 and is essentially the same device other than the lack of the 3G connectivity. [Read more…]

Nook to Get Full Color Screen and Android?

Barnes & Noble will be making an announcement this coming Tuesday. What they are announcing isn’t known just yet, but rumors are now pointing towards a full colour Nook eBook reader that runs the Google Android operating system.

The new Color Nook will also have a touchscreen allowing users to interact more easily with the device. It isn’t clear if these are just hopes, or if B&N will actually announce this. [Read more…]

HP Slate 500 Announced

HP has finally announced the HP Slate 500 tablet. The announcement comes months, actually almost a year, after the HP Slate was first unveiled in January of this year.

The HP Slate 500 runs an Intel Atom processor and uses Windows 7 as the operating system. The tablet its self is actually aimed at business and enterprise users although there is no restriction on who can buy one. It has a price tag of $799.

For technical specs it has a 1.86GHz Intel Atom processor. 2GB of RAM can be found inside along with a 64GB SSD for storage. A Broadcom Crystal HD accelerator is also included allowing it to take care of 1080p HD video content. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab Release Date – November 11 on Verizon

Verizon [VZ] has announced today that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be landing on its network on November 11. The price will be $600.

No dataplan will be required when you purchase it although if you want a dataplan you can opt to pay $20/month for 1GB of data. The dataplan is a month to month plan that allows you to cancel it at any time in 30 day increments. [Read more…]

Android 3.0 Tablets Could Arrive at CES 2011

DigiTimes has reported that Android 3.0 tablets could arrive as early as as December. The models arrive will just be samples in preparation for launch at CES 2011 that goes ahead early in January.

As well as mentioning that tablets running Android 3.0 Gingerbread will arrive, DigiTimes also reveals that tablets from Acer, ASUS and MSI will all appear on the show floor. [Read more…]

Archos 70 7 Inch Android Tablet

Archos looks set to be launching another new Android based tablet. This time the tablet will be called the Archos 70 and will run the Android 2.2 operating system. The tablet has a 7 inch screen that has a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.

The processor inside runs at 1GHz and is a Cortex A8 processor that also utilises a graphics accelerator. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab up for Pre-Order in UK

Carphone warehouse in the UK has made the Samsung Galaxy Tab available for pre-order. The Galaxy Tab release date it November 1st and price wise, the tablet will cost you either £529.99 stand alone or £499.99/ on a 30 day rolling contract costing £10/month.

The standalone price tag of £529.99 actually matches the same sized 16GB iPad with WiFi and 3G making it an attractive offer. The device its self runs Android 2.2, has a 7 inch WVGA super AMOLED screen and is capable of playing flash 10.1 content. [Read more…]

KDDI Redesign Samsung Galaxy Tab and Remove 3G

KDDI over in Japan is doing a hardware refresh on certain lines. One of the devices getting a hardware refresh is the yet to be released Samsung Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab on the KDDI network will look different in that it will have no branding from Samsung on it and 3G will be removed from the device.

As well as removing the branding and 3G aspects of the device, a few cosmetic changes will also be made to the hardware which includes the 4 buttons below the screen being rotated to align correctly when the device is held in landscape mode. [Read more…]
