Verizon Stores To Sell iPad This Month

We mentioned in an earlier post about Walmart selling the iPad (as of today in fact). It now seems Verizon will be jumping onto the same bandwagon as they have announced that they’ll be doing the same from October 28th no less, across 2000 of their online stores. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab UK Price Revealed

T3 managed to get some details of the Samsung Galaxy Tab UK price, revealing that it will cost £599 SIM free.

Confirmation of the contract price has also been found as being £199 on a 24 month contract. The 24/month contract will cost £25/month to get it at £199 for the tablet.

Pricing seems a little off to us though as I doubt many, if any, would class the Samsung Galaxy Tab as a mobile phone (even though it does do voice and text messages) as it’s just a little too large for that. With this in mind, I expect that people would much prefer to pay closer to £10/month for a contract that comes with data only. [Read more…]

Windows Slate Devices to Launch By Christmas

When the HP Slate was first unveiled at the beginning of the year over at CES we expected that it would be available a few months after. But as we now know, Apple announced the iPad shortly after and released it a couple of months after that. We are still waiting for the HP Slate.

HP then purchased Palm which included webOS and the Windows powered Slate kind of dropped of the radar a little. We are still unsure of HP’s plans and if they are to launch a Slate or not, but Steve Ballmer mentioned yesterday that a Slate would arrive by Christmas. [Read more…]

Although its difficult to put the two together in terms of features, a lot of people still use the iPad as a benchmark for pricing. In this case the Tab is higher although you do get cameras and the ability to use it as a phone should you wish. [Read more…]

The Galaxy Tab is a 7 inch screen tablet that runs Android 2.2. With Gorilla Glass on the front, it protects the device. The glass its self is four times stronger and more durable than regular glass used in screens and therefore, can take a bit of a beating without damage (although we don’t recommend you try that any time soon). LG Tablet Will Not Run Android 2.2

Recently, Google [GOOG] commented that Android 2.2 was not designed to be run on tablet devices. This hasn’t stopped the likes of Samsung releasing the Galaxy Tab amongst a few others.

What Google recommended was that manufacturers wait for a more suitable version of the operating system, which we believe is Android 3.0, codenamed Gingerbread. The new version has no release date just yet although it is expected early next year. [Read more…]
