Gmail Redesign Leaked by Google

A number of Google properties are getting a redesign. The new designs are a little more sleeker than previous versions and make Google look a little more modern in terms of the interface that millions of people use. To get a look of which way Google is headed in the designs, look at Google search, Adsense, Analytics, Docs as well as Google+ to get a glimpse of how things look.

The image below shows a leaked shot of what Gmail will look like when it gets a new design. The video showing the new design was uploaded by Google to Youtube and for the few minutes it was online (before being pulled), it also showed a number of new features.

The First Two Galileo Satellites Launch from the EU Today

The European Space Agency will today launch the first two Galileo Validation Satellites in to orbit in preparation for the launch of the new tracking system called GNSS. When fully operational there will be 30 satellites in orbit (inc 3 spares) which will be at an altitude of just over 22KM.

Apple Q4 Earnings Call – Revenue Short of Expectations

Apple held its Q4 earnings call yesterday to provide details of how the company has done for the last quarter of the fiscal year. Analysists had predicted revenue of $29.6 billion with the actual amount being $28.27 billion.

A6 Processor for iPhone 5 and iPad 3 Could be From Samsung

When Apple [AAPL] releases its next generation iPad we could be seeing an A6 processor inside that has been built by Samsung. Samsung currently make the processors for iOS based devices (the older A4 chip and the newer A5 chip). It is now believed that they will be making the next generation chip for next years devices.

$8.5bn Purchase of Skype Completed

Microsoft [MSFT] has announced that it completed the $8.5bn purchase of Skype.

MP3 Store Could be Opened by Google Music

Google could be getting more closely involved in music from what we have read today. From what we understand, Google [GOOG] is currently signing deals with major record labels and when the contracts are complete, an MP3 store could be opened to compete with the likes of the iTunes store as well as Amazon store.

RIM Begins to Recover from BlackBerry Outage

It appears that RIM is finally managing to fix the problems for BlackBerry users that have seen outages over the last few days. At the moment, email appears to be fixed as does the BBM service. Browsing is still down though from reports that we have read.
