Apple Patent Reveals a Hybrid DisplayPort/USB 3.0 Connector

Apple has won a patent for a new hybrid 30-pin/USB 3.0 connector that could be used for high-speed transfer to and from an iPhone. We also hear that this could include Thunderbolt for high speed data transfers.

Yet this latest hybrid connector looks like a winner and one that we might see come to market later this year in handhelds or in 2012 when Intel Macs debut with USB 3.0.
