A contractor has claimed that he has been asked to install a CDMA/3G and a WiMAX repeater within the Apple store in Austin. A repeater is a device that strengthens the signal of a network in a specific area. Normally, these are not installed within specific stores.
Sprint seems to be following on from what Verizon and AT&T has done in the past and that is, they could be preparing for a lot of iPhone traffic around the area within the next month or so.
This may or may not backup rumours about the iPhone 5 coming to the Sprint network, but having a contractor install a repeater within the Apple store is quite a strong hint.
We expect to see the iPhone 5 launched early to mid October.
