Dell is now selling the Dell Streak pre-installed with the Android 2.2 operating system as standard. The new offerings fall in line with the OTA update that is currently being pushed out to current Dell Streak users in Europe with the US to follow.
As well as offering the tablet with Froyo as standard, Dell is also selling the Streak in a choice of two colors of either red or white.
Just to clarify how the OTA updates are working. Dell is pushing out the updates to SIM free (unlocked) Streaks at the moment, specifically to those outside of the US. This is known as Phase 1. When this completes, Phase 2 will start which will see Android 2.2 rolling out OTA to those tablets sold and locked by a carrier (such as O2). It is expected that Phase 2 will start late December. Any Dell Streak in the US will fall under the Phase 2 banner and should get updated within the next 4 – 5 weeks.

I love my Dell Streak. What I don’t understand is how Dell can start rolling out new ones with 2.2 BEFORE I get my update(build 31) .It’s a slap in the face.I guess Dell figures they have my money so why should they feel a sense of urgency.I mean really??? I’m starting to regret not getting the Windows Phone 7.
