Those gamers only concerned with their PS3 but relishing the idea of having a go on Mass Effect can now relax and won’t need to feel envious much longer. The original Mass Effect is still out of reach as this will remain exclusive to the Xbox 360 but Mass Effect 2 on the other hand is definitely making it’s way to the PlayStation 3 console.
A little treat will be in store for those who snap up the sequel in the form of an interactive comic to help ease them into Mr Shephards second outing.
Producer Jesse Houston has said that…
“While I can’t release all the details about this yet, what I can tell you is that we want to create a stunning visual experience that not only tells the core story elements of Mass Effect 1, but also is fully interactive allowing you to be faced with some of the major choices which will have consequences your [sic] Mass Effect universe”
Don’t worry though, PS3 owners will still get to play all of the available DLC including Lair of the Shadow Broker, Project Overlord, Kasumi: Stolen Memory and the Blood Dragon Armor on the Blu-ray disc. The Zaeed and Firewalker content is also available via the Cerberus Network.
Just to clarify things further… There’s been a miscommunication regarding a “6 hour exclusive mission”. This is not the case.
Houston clarified things in saying…
“This I believe is a communication error lost in translation,” he said. “When we talk about 6 hours of content we are talking about what’s included exclusively ‘On Disc’ (Kasumi, Shadow Broker, Overlord), The Interactive Back Story and the Cerberus Network Access.”
January 1st is the date when Mass Effect 2 lands on the PS3.
