Captcha is a security system that you might be familiar with when logging in or registering for new accounts on forums, blogs and other various types of website. The technology was designed to prevent people using automated methods to sign up for many accounts and start sending their junk around. D-Link have announced that Captcha will be released in a firmware update to a number of their routers to prevent automated login attempts to overtake your home network.
The new firmware on the D-Link routers will prevent access to the common router settings pages and if you opt to upgrade your firmware you should see the new captchas in place.
Routers from D-Link that will have new firmware released are the DIR-615, DIR-625, DIR-628, DIR-655, DIR-825, DIR-855, DIR-685 and DGL-4500.
You can download the firmware from the D-Link site.
