Recently, Dropbox and HTC announced that all new HTC Android smartphones sold would have access to a free 5GB Dropbox account. When we first reported it, the deal was for new customers only and particularly those that were buying HTC Sense 3.5 devices. It seems that this isn’t a restriction any more though.
The new information comes from an official Tweet which says:
We’re proud to announce that we’ve partnered with @Dropbox, bringing 5GB of storage to all of our #Android phones.
We are unsure yet how this will be rolled out and perhaps you just need to download Dropbox to your current HTC Android smartphone and when installed, log in and see if you are bumped from the free 2GB to 5GB of storage.
We’ll test later on today to see what happens when we use Dropbox on our HTC Android device and will let you know what happens.
