The Galaxy Nexus on the Verizon network in the US has had a price drop taking it down to just $99.99 when you sign up for a two year contract. Reasons for the drop are not known although it could be a number of reasons such as the launch of the Galaxy S III taking away the sales or perhaps Verizon has information about Google preparing a next generation smartphone for launch in the near future.
The Galaxy Nexus is a pure Android phone running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It doesn’t ship with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at the moment although it could be classed as a cheap way to get to the latest builds of Android at the moment.
Our Galaxy Nexus review a few months back was positive and we highly recommend it if you want an Android device although since the launch of the Galaxy S III, there’s always that option there if you want something newer.
