As well has having the nuvifone G60 on display, Garmin had the new nuvifone M20 on display which differs from the G60 in a few ways.
The nuvifone M20 is aimed more towards business users who need extra features such as Exchange integration. For this reason it comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 installed (hopefully the announcement of Windows Mobile 6.5 coming next month might see this upgraded when it is launched). Just like the G60 the M20 also has location based services and is aimed to simply help you know where you are, where you are going and how to get home.
On the technical side it is a tri-band phone for EDGE/GPRS and GSM as well as a dual-band UMTS phone. Speeds of up to 7.2MBps can be reached if mobile networks permit. Wi-fi is built in and b/g speeds. The OS is WM6.1 as mentioned above although it looks a lot different to the WM 6.1 you normally see due to some heavy customisations by Garmin and Asus.
Location based services on the M20 includes live traffic updates, petrol prices, flight times, weather, white pages and local based Google searches.
As this phone is built by Asus and Garmin it’s obvious that maps play a big role in this phone. For this reason it features a GPS unit (which is common on a lot of phones these days), and Garmin street maps with some very smooth scrolling come standard too.
The screen measures 2.8″ and works in a VGA resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The camera is 3 megapixels and by using the GPS functionality you can also Geo-tag your photos. The phone comes with capacities of 4GB and 8GB depending on which country you buy it.
Accelerometers are included which provides movement functions such as auto rotation of the screen in to landscape mode.
Overall another phone worth watching out for! No release dates or prices are known yet although I suspect it will be available the first half of this year.
Very Nice ><
