The number 2 spot for the most popular browsers in the UK now belongs to Google Chrome. The browser just beat Firefox who held the number 2 spot.
Google Chrome now has a 22% market share in the UK and is steadily catching up to Internet Explorer which accounts for 45% of all users in the UK. Following Chrome is now Firefox which is only just behind and after that it’s the Apple Safari browser that is around 9%.
Chrome is becoming popular due to the speed that it can render web pages. It’s free to use, just like the other browsers, and incorporates the latest technology.
As for worldwide numbers, we see that Chrome now has a 20.65% share and Internet Explorer is a little lower at 43%.
Expect to see an even closer gap between Chrome and IE the same time next year.
