The Google Nexus S release date is today here in the UK. When the price was first announced, the Nexus S weighed in at £549 which was actually higher than the dollar amount in the US, making it very expensive.
Now that the Nexus S is on sale, we see that Carphone Warehouse has dropped the price down to £429.99 which is a nice saving from the original amount.
The Nexus S is the first smartphone to ship with Android 2.3 installed. It is built by Samsung and uses the Super AMOLED screen that is found in the Samsung Galaxy S.
Features include the usual WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, a Gyroscope as well as NFC (near field communication). The processor inside runs at 1GHz and the Nexus S also has a dedicated GPU.
For those wanting to get the Nexus S for a lower initial cost, it is also available free on contracts over £30/month for 24 months.
All details available at the Carphone Warehouse.
