The Google Nexus Prime was expected to be announced this coming week although it seems that it has already been delayed.
“Samsung and Google decide to postpone the new product announcement at CTIA Fall. We agree that it is just not the right time to announce a new product. New date and venue will be shortly announced.”
We don’t know how big the delay is, but suspect it will likely launch before Christmas still, perhaps late November now. The image below was leaked earlier today showing what is believed to be the Nexus Prime.
The delay of the Nexus Prime will likely also mean the delay of Android Ice Cream Sandwich as the Nexus devices are generally the first ones to launch when new operating systems from Google go live.
A brief reminder of the specs show that it is likely to have a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED HD display that has curved glass in front of it. The resolution of the screen is expected to be 1280 x 720 pixels. There will be 1GB of RAM inside along with 32GB of storage along with a microSD card slot for adding another 32GB to the device. It will use a 1.2GHz processor, the TI OMAP 4460 Cortex A9 which is a dual core chip.
The camera on the back can capture at 5 megapixels and is capable of full HD in 1080p. A camera will also be on the front which will capture at 1.3 megapixels.
The picture below also shows a mockup of the device and just before that, a video where the picture above was taken from:
