Hackers have managed to root the Google Nexus S just hours after it launched to the public.
The Nexus S root allows users to gain full access to the file system of the phone and hence, make many changes to the Android operating system. Changes could include overclocking the Nexus S, changing the UI, installing a custom Android build as well as many other modifications.
The guys over at XDA Developers have all the details and instructions on how to root the Nexus S.
The image below shows root on the Nexus S. The instructions, linked above, look fairly simple although we always recommend proceeding with caution as you need to make sure each step is done exactly so you don’t brick your phone (meaning you don’t permanently kill it).
