Google has paused the Nexus S Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update due to a few bugs found within. Problems found by those who have updated include issues with battery life, overheating and slow responses on the device.
“If you received an update notification a little while ago but the update isn’t currently available for your phone, this is likely the result of Google pausing the update in your area while we monitor feedback. The Android 4.0 update is continuing to roll out around the world so your phone will receive another update notification when it’s available again in your region.”
As the Nexus S worked well before the update, and as it also is related to the new Ice Cream Sandwich update, we can safely assume that Google [GOOG] will find a fix and roll it out shortly. As mentioned in the quote above, if you have received a notification but cannot get the message at the moment, just wait for another notification. When that arrives you should have the correct and fixed version of the OS.
