It appears that on August 18 the HTC DROID Incredible Android 2.2 update will be arriving, or at least will be starting to arrive OTA to users.
The information comes from Mashable who heard from sources that Verizon [VZ] were to start pushing the update this Wednesday.
We’ve heard from our sources that the Verizon team members already have Froyo installed on their Droid Incredibles. Now the update is essentially ready for primetime. Froyo has been making its way onto some of the most popular Android handsets in recent weeks. The HTC Evo 4G, the Motorola Droid and the Nexus One have the updated OS.
The DROID Incredible running Android 2.2 should work more smoothly. Quite a few features have been added between 2.1 and 2.2 such as the ability to use Adobe Flash 10.1 as well as tethering and the ability to use the smartphone as a wireless hotspot for several users.
Of course this hasn’t been confirmed yet although with many other new Android smartphones getting the Froyo update, it’s bound to be happening soon for Incredible users.
